[AI] Re: Problem while navigating on laptop.

2021-08-25 Thread shraddha edke
Hi all,

Hope everyone is safe and fine?

Well, an issue that I'd addressed in the mail few months back seems to
be unresolved even after trying to follow the solutions given by few
of you on the group.

I'd tried following things but I'm still facing the same problem:-

1. Someone said that it could be keyboard issue, so I'd got my
keyboard change just couple of days back.

2. Someone else was suggesting if it could be a virus giving trouble ,
to that I'd installed quick hill sometimes back.

3. I'd 2 JAWS installed i.e. JAWS 2019 and JAWS 2020 of which JAWS
2020 was recently installed, thinking that it is what is matter in
question, I just uninstalled it yesterday...

I'm not able to understand what would be the exact difficulty, and its
really troublesome while working on some important documents. Would
really appreciate if somebody could help in this matter?

Shraddha.

[AI] Trouble Login into Facebook Account.

2018-01-28 Thread shraddha edke
Hi all,

Hope this mail find you in best health.

Since past few days, I'm facing difficulty login into my Facebook account.

After trying to login into the profile, it is asking to upload an
identity, until which I won't get an access to my account.

Now my question to all is that, how safe is it to upload an id proof
and which document would be safest if at all if I've to upload the
same?

P.s:-
If someone can suggest some work around to skip this step of uploading
an id proof without creating a new account would be a best solution.

Thanking in advance for any/all assistance.

Indeed a very nice share...

However, my eyes also caught the attention on the following statement:

"Rather, we must celebrate diversity and learn to celebrate the birth
of every child, with or without disability.”

I'm sure it must really be a moment of celebration for parents when
they see their baby born?
But, I'm not sure for how many would it really be? especially for the
one whose lad is born with down syndrom!

Shraddha.

2017-02-24 Thread shraddha edke
Hello Team,

I did try using the App on my MotoG3 phone but was unsuccessful in my attempt.

I could very easily install the app and also could choose the prefered
language and could verify the mobile number. But when moving on to the
next step, I'm getting message that states, "UPI Registration failed".

Regards,
Shraddha.

Hi,

Is it that you're facing the problem in one particular word file?

You might just check few things:
1. The font of the text.

2. Whether the document is in a maximize mode.

Other things surely the experts on the group would look into... SMILES!

Shraddha.

Re: [AI] Making excel 2010 anounsing colomn headers with jaws

2016-04-17 Thread shraddha edke
Hello Experts,

Does Colomn header announcement mean that If I am in an excel sheet
that has a huge data and If I'm in colomn f and 126th row and I want
to know what is the name of the colomn in which I'm without moving the
focus from where I am?

In that case I tried the solution given by siddhi but was unable to
fix the problem!

Will be glad if someone could throw some more light on it!!!

Thanking in anticipation for your kind assistance!

Shraddha.

Absolutely Great Gread!

Here it goes:

Justice Richard Bernstein - “Law is a Great Equalizer” By Pramila Komanduri
Fri, 03/11/2016 - 10:48 -- sharo...@eyeway.org

Justice Richard Bernstein is the first blind Justice who has been
elected by the people of the state of Michigan to serve on the
Michigan Supreme Court since January, 2015. Born blind with a
condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa he attended public schools in
Michigan with special education programs and services. He graduated
Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan and completed his law
degree at Northwestern University’s School of Law in Chicago. Justice
Bernstein built his legal career in Michigan as an attorney and a
diligent advocate for the rights of people with and without
disabilities. Some of the cases which he undertook led to landmark
legal decisions which determine the guidelines for safe accessibility
for people with disabilities in commercial facilities, airlines and
airports across the US.
Inerview:
Question: What kind of support system did you have at home with your family?
Answer: Justice Bernstein: I had an incredibly supportive family and
that was a blessing: my parents, my brother and my sister were all
just amazing. I was raised with the idea that there were no limits and
no obstacles and that life would be challenging, difficult, and hard
but that there would be nothing that would be impossible and nothing
that I couldn’t hope for, envision, or dream that could ultimately
happen. I was taught Braille at a very early age which I haven’t used
in well over 25 years as technology has provided a greater level of
opportunity to people like myself than we could have ever imagined or
even thought was possible.
..Question: What issues did you have while growing up in getting
involved in sports or other activities?
Answer: Justice Bernstein: It was a very difficult time in school
because they didn’t really know how to accommodate somebody like
myself with a disability such as blindness. When I was going to the
gym class for the physical fitness I was pretty much on the side-lines
while everybody else got a chance to be a part of it. As I got older
things got a lot better as I was presented with opportunities in which
I had chances to experience things that I never even knew existed and
have adventures. I became part of a program called Achilles which
believes that anybody who wants to run should have a chance to do so.
It works with severely disabled people like myself and gives us an
absolutely incredible opportunity. Thanks to Achilles I run with
guides who give me directional cues as I participate in a marathon:
hard right, soft right, hard left, soft left. I have been a pretty
intense athlete for about eight or nine years. I have had the
incredible opportunity to complete 18 city marathons and a full
Ironman competition.
..Question: Do you train with a guide for swimming, a lead rider on
the tandem bike and a guide for the marathon in the Ironman
competition?
Answer: Justice Bernstein: That’s correct. It’s the same person for
the whole event. It was a lot of training, discipline and work. It
took about 2 years of training to do an Ironman. For those people who
aren’t familiar with an Ironman, it is a 2.4 miles swim, followed by a
112 miles bike ride, which is followed by a 26.2 miles run. If you
stop or rest or take a break while you are doing this competition you
run the risk of missing a cut-off and being immediately disqualified
from it. So you have to start off early in the morning. From start to
finish it took 14 hours and 36 minutes of non-stop motion, with no
break. I want you to imagine how it would feel if you dive into a
frigid body of water. The temperature of Lake Coeur d’Alene in Idaho
where I swam was 55° F (about 13° C). Imagine getting kicked in the
face by all the other swimmers and trying to surface but you can’t.
Imagine having other swimmers get entangled in the rope that connects
you to your guide. When you get entangled you start to drown and you
panic and try to get oxygen while the waves come rushing up on you.
You come to realize through these kinds of competitions that you are
always going to have what you need when you need it. I think the
essence of it is that while the body might be mortal the spirit is all
powerful. When people with disabilities are given the opportunity and
the chance they can do anything and everything that you could ever
hope to imagine. Disabled people know what we can do. We simply need
able-bodied people to give us a chance and give us an opportunity to
do it.
..Question: Did you find out about Achilles yourself or did somebody
tell you about it?
Answer: Justice Bernstein: They recruited me. I got a call from Dick
Traum who is the founder of Achilles International and he told me that
he thought that this would be a program in which I would be
interested. A lot of times you just have to reach out to people with
disabilities and let them know that you are there and let them

2016-03-09 Thread shraddha edke
When I too visited JJ last week to take the certificate which I had
given for renewal, one of my friend asked me to take the Railway
concession form too.

On asking the officers over their, they told me too the same thing
that you need to get the form from the CST station.

As it was too late I didn’t go to CST. But, what I understood from
what my friend said is that we need to get the form from JJ itself!

Can somebody guide us with the right procedure please?

Thanking you in anticipation for your kind assistance!

Re: [AI] Maneka raises objections to proposed Disability Bill

2016-01-29 Thread shraddha edke
Here it goes:

New Delhi: Union Minister Maneka Gandhi who is part of a ministerial
panel to examine the proposed Disability Bill has raised objections to
it saying that the bill does not lay criterion for determination of
mentally disabled persons.

“It (bill) does not differentiate between mentally ill and mentally
disabled person. But there is a difference between the two. If a
person is mentally ill like schizophrenic, how can he be given a job,”
Gandhi said talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function.

According to the present law on disability, three per cent reservation
for disabled people is mandatory in all categories of government jobs.

The matter was raised in the meeting of Group of Ministers (GoM) which
held its first meeting today to examine the Right of Persons with
Disabilities Bill 2014.

The GoM is headed by Home Minister Minister Rajnath Singh with Women
and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi, Tribal Affairs Minister
Jual Oram and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawar Chand
Gehlot as its member.

Gandhi said the Bill needs to be worked on further before presenting
to the Cabinet.

The Bill makes accessibility a mandatory requirement under the law. It
proposes entitlement for persons with at least 40 per cent disability
to certain benefits such as reservations in education and employment,
preference in government schemes, etc.

In the case of a mentally ill person, the district court may award
guardianship to take care of him and take all legal binding decisions
on his behalf in consultation with such person.

The Bill was drafted by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and
seeks to replace the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities,
Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995.

It imposes a penalty of Rs 10,000 or imprisonment up to six months for
violation of any provision of the Act.

Re: [AI] share my openion on mix and match regarding

2016-01-15 Thread shraddha edke
Hi.

Greetings…

The topic on the list triggered me too to write, as it reminded me
about the Term Paper(Secondary Research) carried out by me in my
second year PG Course on , CREATIVE TEACHING METHODS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS
CHILDREN!

Sharing with you all just a short relevant portion from it!

Meaning of Special Education
Special education refers to the teaching of learning-disabled students
in ways outside of the norm. This is done by giving students more
individual attention than they would normally receive. Therefore
special education programs are typically more expensive per capita
than their counterparts. Nowadays, it; is common for special education
training to be a requirement to become a certified teacher.
(M. L Dhawan, 2005).

ADVANTAGES OF SPECIAL EDUCATION
Special Attention- Special schools provide students with individual
attention that they would likely not receive in public schools. As a
result, learning and development can occur more rapidly and children
are not ignored or neglected due to not being able to keep pace with
the rest of the class.
Teacher Training- Teachers in special schools are specifically trained
to deal with students with needs. They have the knowledge and tools
necessary to educate the students, and they have an understanding of
how students' disabilities affect their ability to learn. The teachers
also possess the patience needed to work with special students
Sense Of Belonging- Special schools promote a sense of inclusion among
the students. Rather than feeling like they are outsiders, special
students can bond with others with similar disabilities. This can help
them develop a sense of confidence and self-esteem.
DISADVANTAGES OF SPECIAL EDUCATION
Lack of Socialization- A disadvantage of this feeling of inclusion can
occur when the student attempts to return to public school or to
assimilate into regular society. They may have difficulty relating to
others who are not like them, so they may feel like outcasts. In some
instances, the student may not be able to function outside of the
school's environment.
Expense- Unlike public schools, special schools often require parents
to pay money out of their own pocket for their child to attend. If the
cost is prohibitive, the parents may not be able to provide the child
with the needed special attention. In some cases, grants or government
aid can help lessen the financial burden.
http://www.ehow.com/list_5970010_advantages-disadvantages-special-
schools.htm l#ixzz1E0yaZ300UG

CONCEPT AND MEANING OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION:
As we had seen above, there is Special Education approach which can be
adopted to teach the children with disability wherein the child will
be segregated from the normal school and will be given training
separately, while at the same time there is also an Inclusive
Education Approach which can be adopted where the Differently Abled
Child can be a part of a Normal School and can learn with the normal
children just by adopting certain Creative and Special techniques to
teach them. There has been a lot of talk about mainstreaming
differently abled students with normal student but teachers have to
have the special skills to teach these differently abled students for
which this paper will try to provide guidance.

Inclusive education means all learners, young people - with or without
disabilities being able to learn together in ordinary schools and
community educational setting with appropriate network of support
services. In inclusive education the needs of all learners are
addressed so that good education can be provided to all. However,
since the learners with disabilities form one of the largest groups
that are still out of the fold of general education, the target group,
therefore, on which this scheme will focus, would be learners with
disabilities. The term 'learners with disabilities' will cover visual
impairments (Blind and Low Vision), speech and hearing impairments,
Locomotor disabilities, neuromusculoskeltal neurodevelopmental
disorders including cerebral Palsy, Autism, mental retardation,
multiple disability and learning disabilities
(M. L Dhawan, 2005).

 ADVANTAGES OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION
Effective Learning- In inclusive education, children with and without
disabilities is all expected to study, learn, read, and write. By
having higher expectations for children with disabilities coupled with
good and effective instruction, they quickly learn academic skills.
Because the philosophy and mission of inclusive education is intended
to help all students to learn, all children in the class benefit from
the method of instruction. Based on evidence from the National Center
for Education Restructuring and Inclusion, children with disabilities
in the classroom tend to show academic achievement in several areas
including improved performance on mastery of IEP goals, standardized
tests, motivation to study and learn, overall good grades and
classroom behavior. Also, children with disabilities who are
instructed

[AI] Health Nutrients for Healthy Eyes!

2015-12-15 Thread shraddha edke
Health Nutrients for Healthy Eyes

The wonders of nature reveal themselves through the eyes of the
beholder. This essential part of the body, therefore, demands
protection and care throughout your life. Even a slight blemish to the
eye should not be neglected because over a period of time minor
irritants in the eyes can turn into chronic troubles.

For instance, one of the cause of damage to the eye is light-induced
lipid peroxidation. Simply put, when light enters the lens, it reacts
with lipids present in it generating free radicals that cause damage
to the eyes. There are several other eye disorders that arise due to
the onslaught of free radicals. And there are several others that are
brought on due to the deficiency of essential nutrients in the diet.
 •
Vitamin A: This acts as antioxidant that can scavenge the
free-radicals formed within the eyes. It plays a major role in the
cells of the eye that are sensitive to dim light and is also necessary
for the health of mucous membranes that line the eyelid. Consumption
of vitamin A in the diet should be 15 mg daily.

•
Vitamin B2: This vitamin acts as coenzyme in various redox reactions
including the prevention of free radicals, thus acting as an
antioxidant. The consumption of vitamin B2 in the diet should be
0.3-1.0 mg per day.

•
Vitamin E: It is an antioxidant whose deficiency leads to inflamed
eyelids and sensitivity to light. The consumption of this vitamin in
the diet should be 400-800 IU everyday.

•
Vitamin C: This also acts as antioxidant that can scavenge the
free-radicals in the eye. The daily intake of vitamin C in the diet
should be 2000-3000 mg.

•
b-carotene: This pigment acts as an antioxidant and its consumption in
the diet should be 25,000 IU daily.

•
Zinc and selenium: Zinc along with the enzyme retinal dehydrogenase
catalyzes the conversion of inactive retinol into its active form,
thus forming active antioxidants. Selenium is essential for the
formation of selenoproteins like glutathione peroxidase within the
lens of the eye. Glutathione peroxidase acts as an antioxidant that
also prevents the formation of free radicals that damage the eye lens.
The daily intake of zinc and selenium should be 25 mg respectively.

•
Eggs: Eggs are a good source of vitamins mainly vitamin A (retinol)
and vitamin B2 (riboflavin). They also contain a high amount of the
essential pigments lutein and zeaxanthin. Vitamin A and pigments act
as antioxidants and prevent the formation of free radicals that can
damage the eye. Lutein and zeaxanthin are yellow pigments that provide
the yellow colour to egg yolk. They absorb the damaging blue
wavelengths of light from sun that enters the eye.

•
Carrots: Carrot juice is among the richest sources of vitamin A
(thiamine). It also consists of the pigment b-carotene and retinol.
This increases the level of antioxidants which then prevent the
formation of free radicals.

•
Spinach: Spinach consists of vitamins like vitamin A retinol and
vitamin C (ascorbic acid). It has a high amount of b-carotene pigment
and also a rich source of antioxidants (vitamin A, vitamin C,
b-carotene and lutein).

•
Fortified cereals: Cereals like milk powder fortified with vitamins
and minerals contain vitamins including vitamin A retinol, vitamin E
(tocopherol), vitamin B2 (riboflavin), minerals like zinc and lutein
pigment. Vitamin A and E are antioxidants which prevent the formation
of free radicals. Vitamin B2 acts as coenzyme in various redox
reactions including the prevention of free radicals, thus acting as
antioxidant.

•
Orange: Orange in the form of raw fruit is rich in the pigment
zeaxanthin, vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and vitamin A. But the juice of
orange has high amounts of vitamin C as compared to raw orange.

•
Milk and dairy products: Dairy products like milk, cheese, yogurt,
etc. are rich sources of vitamin A, vitamin B2, minerals like zinc and
amino acid like taurine. Among buffalo, cow and goat milk, goat milk
is the highest source of taurine. Taurine is the free amino acid found
in the retina of the eyes, thus maintaining the retina and eye health.

•
Seafoods: Seafoods including oysters Late rich sources of minerals
like selenium and zinc. Zinc along with the enzyme retinal
dehydrogenase catalyzes the conversion of inactive retinol into its
active form, thus forming active antioxidant0 Selenium and zinc, as
antioxidants, help in keeping away cataract and night blindness.

•
Guava: Guava is a rich source of vitamin C (ascorbic acid).
Consumption of guava as raw fruit is better than consuming in the form
of juice. Since vitamin C acts as an antioxidant, guava balances the
level of antioxidants within the eye, thus increasing immunity against
macular degeneration.

The right blend of nutrients in the diet can not only keep your eyes
healthy but also delay the onslaught of eye disorders that strike with
advancing age.

*Eyes are an asset - take care of them*!
