if unbinding the books is not an issue then one can even go for
Automatic document feeder. These scanners are great as far as quality
is concerned with respect to time taken. Prices of adf scanners are
decreasing. Cheapest scanner will scan 5 pages in a minute.

If you just want to read with jaws and you like the eloquence voice,
Find reader is very good. Kerzweil has its own voices which are more
human like but I don't find the recognition much accurate in kerzveil.
