I assume you are referring to the ADST
tool that you get if you're a premier customer and MSFT come and do an AD
Healthcheck. As far as I know, this can be run from anywhere (in the
domain), as it's really just a bunch of VBS scripts that do ADSI and WMI queries
against the DCs. The cool thing is these scripts are wrapped behind a
decent GUI.

  It is the Active
Directory Health Check Snapshot Tool. What exactly is ADRAP? I got a
copy from our Forest Admins because I am a child domain of the
  forest.

  The reason that I ask
is because I seem to get buggy results when I go from an XP workstation, or a
member server, and I wondered if I needed to run it from the DC
  itself.

The tool actually lists out the specific requirements for running it. You just need to read the "default.htm" that is part of the generated report.

ADRAP being AD Risk Assesment Program or something along that line - MS comes
out for some number of days, runs that tool and makes recommendations on
changes to make to the forest - it's a health check, basically.

Your forest admins aren't supposed to be emailing that thing around the
company. My recollection is that the license is one year from the date of the
ADRAP to be used on the machine it was installed on only.

Actually, I was in an ADRAP with my organization today, and the MS rep
said the license is for one year for the forest. He encouraged us to keep
it somewhere on the network and use it over the next year.

If you have a multi-forest environment, I guess it wouldn't apply to the
other forests.
