I want to migrate one user' home on node 1 to node 6 on our RS6000/SP.
ADSM/HSM is on each node .
How the migrated files of user on node 1 become ?
Must they be all recalled before the movement on node 6 ?
Somebody have idea ?
Thanks
Richard,
Simplest way is just to trigger earlier backups of your storage pool. Say you
triggered at 2/3 hour intervals during the night by the time your current backup
kicked in at 08:00 most of your pool has already been copied, so will finish
earlier, almost certainly before your migration.
Al,
your approach looks for me as Windows 9x security - every program will
release the processor with good will and every user will try not to
overwrite files of the others. So lets be cooperative ?!
If we are talking about *enterprise* product we should ensure security not
assume it.
So my vote

Defining an immediate ClientAction should be the way to go! If it is showing
'pending' make sure the SCHEDULER service/daemon is running and if writing
straight to tape that you have a drive free. It should be as simple as that!
Also, try SCHEDMode PRompted as well!

When running in polling mode, the immediate action is not necessarily
immediate; it would be picked up the next time the client polls the server
for its next scheduled event, which is based on the QUERYSCHEDPERIOD
client setting.

I finally got ahold of the logs. There was an error about not being able

We are on a quest. From an old posting, we found a reference to the
following redbook:
The Redbook is called Tivoli ADSM - Windows 2000 Considerations and has
part number SG24-5744-00 and deals with the TSM Windows 2000 Client.
Strangely, the book is no longer on IBM or Tivoli's Web page...
You can search for it at www.redbooks.ibm.com. I searched for the book you mentioned
at the RedBooks site, but, as Frederic pointed out, it does not exist.
Here're some others that might help:

Anyone notice that sometimes when you issue 'quit' from an admin command

The only thing to be wary of when going to TSM 4.2, is the issue of having
a double zero string in the password file. TSM 4.2.0 and 4.2.1 can not
read the password file if the file contains this double zero string. We
recently upgraded to TSM 4.2.1.25 and had major problems with passwords.

Hi Wanda,
Unfortunately I have very little help to offer on this one, especially if

- Check the TSM server activity
This seems like normal behaviour...
