Hi There,
Just wondering if anybody has written or knows of a step-by step guide to
implementing TSM encryption for backup and archive ??
As noticed by somebody else in this list the documentation for this
function in the manuals is extremely light.
Even a quick process outline by someone who
ok, thanks...
it makes sens to me now..
I have some work to do to change it all !

Hi,
Does anybody have a quick installation guide for TDP for Domino?

Hrrmm... I probably confused everyone...
The customer here has already created a new management class, but we are now
dealing primarily with how to gracefully age out data in the original
management class...

Hi *SM-collegues,
Just before the weekend we had a hardware error on our library. The problem
was fixed, the services restarted.
Ofcourse, I need to do an audit on the library; however, there's a space
reclamation process running, waiting for a tape to mount - which it can't

Hi there,
about two weeks ago there was a small thread on mirroring your database

Why? To protect you from diskcrashes and from logical failures due to
corrupt pages.
Our biggest concern was the performance impact.
Some off the list members claimed that the impact was minimal. The gain
It´s connected thru SCSI.
We will upgrade, but I don´t think we will until after the summer.

I'm working with someone who's doing a BCV split on EMC disk, then using the TDP for

Yes, but in this case they are starved for tapes/slots in the library, so we
need to free up the volumes as quickly as (reasonably) possible.

Hi,
Is there a way to archive Domino DBs through the TDP?
I am doing it through a backupset right now. How do you identify the

Or do I have to look through the actlog?
How do I know when that backupset volumes is

Nope. All other platforms the api isn't necessary. I agree with your

Zantaz,
You really shouldn't have two schedulers listing on the same
port...(TCPCLIENTPORT)
you might try letting one default to 1501 and force the other to 1502 (say
in your TSM2 SErver entry)

I think the reason they made the API dependent, is because of this line
from the Readme:
NOTE:
The image backup function requires the API to be installed.
Please ensure that yo do not install the B/A client without
the API package.
Don, I just tail -f'd my dsmulog logfile. It appears to cache, so that

Gerald, you might try a wrapper that prepends a timestamp. Maybe something
like:

function timestamp {
while read line; do
ts=`date +%D %T`
echo

Is it possible to run a post schedule command only if the backup was

rather it leave the files there so it can back them up the next

Below 5.1, if preschedule command returns non-zero - backup still runs.
New feature added to 5.1:
Also if you use the processing option
preschedulecmd to run a command, and that command

Define a class with retonly retextra = 2192 days, frequency=7.
Later bind the directory in question + subdirs to that class
No change in schedules at all. If data is *really* changing you will get
