We back up some Windows PCs to a TSM 4.1.5.3 server running on AIX 4.3.3.
We usually restrict the backups to the C:\My Documents folder by having
appropriate INCLEXCL statements in the server's CLIENTOPT set.
This has been working just fine for Windows 98 clients.
However, with Windows XP

In my opinion, you should always use ROLLFORWARD, unless you run into a
performance or capacity limitation that prevents you from doing so.
If you use rollforward mode and you have a hardware crash or a software
crash that causes you to have to restore your DB, TSM will restore the DB,

Copy pools do not belong to a primary pool.
The destination for the primary pool data is determined by the command that
backs it up: BACKUP STGPOOL primary copypool
And in theory, you could send it to one copy pool on Monday, and a different
one on Tuesday...

Scott, I haven't done this but I have thought about it before.
I suggest some additional steps for safety.
1. empty out the diskpool and delete the volumes. Make sure
the copypool is a complete image. Than take the dbbackup and restore
to server b. Add 1/2 of the disk volumes to the diskpool
I concur with Tim Rushforth's assessment from yesterday: based on the
failing line of code, this is APAR IC33023.
This APAR is fixed in TSM 4.2.2. I would recommend going to that level.
