I was wondering...
If I have a backup copygroup that says VEREXIST=10 and all three other
variables No Limit, what would a point-in-time restore, from say 6
months
ago, do with a file that has been backed up more than 10 times during
the
last 6 months? The file existed 6 months ago, but since I
We just got a Domino server installed on a WIN2K server. What is a good

enough for recovery?

Bruce,
your mistake is *by design*. You can move data (with both move data and
move nodedata) between *primary* pools. Copypools *do not* contain
node's data, they contain primary pools' data copies.
To achieve the goal I would suggest you the following:
1. create new primary pool (if not done
Hi Hans,
Considering the fact that this file has never been renamed or deleted
but only modified, the parameter that handles it's expiration is
effectively version data exists and in that case, your last assertion
is the right one : TSM doesn't know anything anymore from that data !
Hope it

Alan,
Yes, you can do this.
I back up incrementally to a 3490 cartridge pool and fulls to a 9840 cartridge
pool
Works fine.

in our current LAN client TSM infra we have two server PROD TEST and often a

The client is started using -server and -virtualnodename , all is well.
In the near future we may be moving to LAN free clients and the two sites
I have been up on TSM 5.1.5.4 for about 2 months. I have had no BIG
problems. A few small things though. Everything between 5.1.0 and 5.1.5.4
seemed to have a very big CPU usage (and locking) problem with expiration
processing.
Does this mean that the problem was first fixed in 5.1.5.4,

Hi all,
I am getting following errors when TSM tries to backup one of the netware

I have limited knowledge of netware.
I noticed some of the filenames are long like :
I did the same, but then continued on to 5.1.5. No problems during
upgrade as long as you follow the instructions. Make sure you choose the
correct filesets for TSM (32 bit). I've heard where the upgrade db
doesn't get done automatically for some (mine did), but that can be done
manually.
Hi everyone!
I was wondering if it is possible for the backups of the onsite tape pool

is copying a 200+ GB file? The file is a collection of event logs from WIN
servers. Every day it is writing one very large file (I've

Preventing log fillups is a delicate balancing process, especially if
you run in ROLLFORWARD mode.
But right now you're in a jam - you've got to extend your log, but you
cannot because it is as large as it can be (13gb). Call Tivoli support.
Then shrink your log back down to 12gb, so you can do

7hrs on a 4-way RS/6000 H80. The only things I can thing of keep in mind is the paths

Sounds like whatever Netware user is being used for this backup does not
have rights to the directory and/or files. Check with your Netware admins
to find out who has rights to those files.

It isn't really the client code level, it's a bug involving Unicode vs.
non-unicode clients.
If you have access to the new IBM/TSM support site, search on ANR0428W and
there is a post with instructions for patching the database entries for the
damaged client. I had to do this for 2 clients in
