Issue resolved Dmitri's suggestion worked, I have included the steps I
took below. Thanks to all who replied for your time and consideration,
it is greatly appreciated.

Hello.
As for now I've been doing unloaddb to tapes inserted into 3590 drives of
our 3494 library.
I wonder, can I use files on filesystem to do this and then loaddb?

Hi All:
I am an novice user of TSM and want to know about configuring TSM Server,
backup pool, tape library (LTO 3583), monitoring administration. Can
anyone suggest me some good resources for doing this. Yes, I know the web
link for TSM publication; excluding this if anything is there.
Thanks
Well the answer really depends on the number of clients and volumme of data
you are talking about.
Unless you have a tape shortage issue, I would be tempted to leave the
offending copies and let expiration do the job over time.
If there are only a small number of clients you could export them,
yes you can. We tried this allready an it worked very well (TSM-Server
5.1.7.2).

Hi !
Yes our log is in roll-forward-mode. So I turn it to normal and now the log
is constant. The process 'cleanup backupgroups' runs now for 5 hours and no
more does not seem to stop (our TSM-Database is 12GB). I'm waiting now.
Best regards,

This one is a real buggerturns out the tape is physically in the library
slot and the 3494 library manager knows about it, but the TSM library manager
instance still thinks it's dismounting...and the process is hanging. The only
thing I can think of beyond is to recycle the library manager
This is a easier question from an easier brain.
Trying to get the Client Option on the TSM server to become nothing of a
particular Client. I want to control at the client level. How to I reset
to nothing. The pull down box won't let a nothing answer.
Thank You,

On current situation is total capacity of 746 volumes including 1 CE tape and 6

days a week and reclamation for
I don't think there is any good answer to that. It depends, of course, on
your data and the usage patterns at your site.
Some suggestions:
1) if you keep TSM DB backup tapes on site, you can move those out; nobody
should be calling for them but you.
2) if you have backupsets in the 3494, I'd
Try long term archive tapes. Mark them as offsite when you send them to
overflow so they can't be pulled. If you know that your retention is 2
weeks then take out the tapes written yesterday. It is a matter of
reviewing your retentions and storage pool configurations to see what tapes
won't be
Just some things to ponder and consider:
Depending on how short of scratches you are, try (check how much they have
been used first) but remove all but the one or two 'freshest' cleaning
carts. This could get 4 or 5 more slots for scratches. Use your 'older'
cleaning carts during the week when
Maybe I'm missing something here, but...
If you reclaim your offsite pools say Monday and Tuesday, you will have an operator
onsite to manage the tapes.
If you run reclamation for your onsite tapepool on weekends, provided you don't have
an excessive reusedelay, that should all be handled by
