One more approach is to employ a PRESchedulecmd to kick off a

Sorry if I was not clear - I mean where the client is a linux server.
Using the GUI via IE is a bit flaky - I can delete one archive then
when I try to do a second it locks up and I have to kill dsmcad and
restart it on the client then try again.

Len,
Interesting ideas. Would putting a governor on it at the TSM level or
the network level interfere with data restores? Or could this be
limited just to backups?
I am not experiencing this problem. I am just raising the question as a
thought to consider before implementing this.
Hello,
Thanks everybody for response. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only
one with this problem.
I would vote for Andy's solution (sorry Richard, your solution is even
better, because it stops backup gracefully, but it requires changing
storage pool, and I don't want to do that).
Until now

Anyone have the location for downloading latest AIX and Windows

Didn't they used to mail them to customers and provide hardcopy

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ is an anonymous ftp site. I just tested it
using command line ftp from windows. You should be able to login using
the user anonymous and just about anything as the password (I just
pressed enter for the password).
If this does not work, then you probably have an FTP
go into the http address, get to the list and then i get page not
found..
