Hmm, good question. I'm not sure of the answer. We have only been running it for about 30 days so far. Under the covers it the appliance runs a customized Linux 2.6 kernel, but customers only have a limited login shell, so I'm not sure what the underlying filsystem type is. Ben -Original

To me it sounds like a protocol difference between the tape drive and the HBA. You probably have tried all of these, but you never know what will trigger the Oh yeah moment. 1. Is it always the same drives? 2. Have you tried power cycling just a tape drive instead of the library? 3. Are all of the

Is there a limit to the number of TSM servers and/or reports that can be configured for TOR? I'm running 5.4.2.0 on a Windows2003 server, 7 TSM servers are defined with multiple reports/monitors for each. Nothing runs! The service is running, the reports/monitors are activated, but I don't get

How about the number of reports? I've split out the hourly monitor in to individual monitor reports so that the email notification has the report title in the subject instead of the generic Hourly Monitor and the TSM server name. So I actually have about 9 monitor for each of those 7 TSM

Try running a del vol on the volumes and see what happens. If you know there is no valid data on any of them add the discarddata=yes. That is if the label volume doesn't work. If TSM thinks the volumes are valid it will not relabel them. See Ya' Howard -Original Message- From: ADSM:

Probably the library has it assigned a category other than insert or scratch. Use your mtlib command to query the tape... mtlib -l/dev/lmcp# -qV -VC01861(where # is the proper lmcp1 or lmcp2 etc... that your library is as found via aix command lsdev -Cctape) Look for the category data...

I would suggest you go all the way to 5.4.2.0. Thanks for the comment, Mark. Usually I'd agree with you. In this case, we want to match the level we have on our third TSM server. We like to keep as few variations of maintenance inhouse as we can, and that level has worked flawlessly for us.
