Hello Dwight,
I have found your queries very good and developed some shell scripts, based on
your queries, to produce reports for:
1) Domain - Node - File Space - Destination - Management Class - Copy Group
Parameters (verexists, verdeleted,retextra, reatonly) for file backups;
2) Domain - Node
Hi to all
We implant Data Domain Deduplication in our organization with our TSM backup ,
I have a little question for people running this too about the configuration of
file and vtl capacity .
For now we configure device type for file as 50GB and for vtl as 100GB when we
use VTL only

Hi,
TSM for Linux will not backup unknown filesystems such NTFS, BtrFS and EXT4
EXT4 and BtrFS will work better in TSM Client 6.2. But as a workaround you need
to setup a VirtualFS for does partitions and then will TSM BA Client start back
them up without any issues.

We want to upgrade the client (5.5-6.1) on a Windows server that is split
into multiple partitions and thus has multiple nodes and associated

Will the 6.1.3.2 install process disturb the client schedules, which have
been manually installed/configured? We really don't want to have to
Hi All,
I'm trying to install the AIX TSM 6.1.3.2 client on AIX 5.3, but keep

Does anyone know what to get for this LPP? I've searched through IBM but
did not find it.
My system is currently running with the 6.1.3.0 client and my
That should be on the CD with the client. Or in the download package.

We have upgraded a lot of servers from 5.5.1 to 6.1.x (just TSM Clients, TSM
Clients and TDP for Exchange/SQL/Oracle, clusters with multi-node
configuration) without any modifications in schedules after upgrade.

Hi TSMers,
I have some questions about Collocation Groups Reclamation and restore.

Two different ips, 128.135.19.3 and 128.135.19.5, both using the same tsm node

Problem/cause solved - it is not the issue with systemstate backups.
It is a new app with a HUGE (142GB) log file that is constantly changing
(folks always forget CHANGINGRETRIES 0 which IMHO should be the default).
It is taking 3-hours for each compress/send pass of this one file.
Anybody know

Sounds like you've got the same client name on two different servers.
Each time they check in with TSM, they are updating their IP and
GUID. Go check the dsm.opt on both those servers.

You need to check event retention period (usually it is 31 days). Set it to 90
days by SET command, if you need 3 month history.
