Hi Lance
I'm not sure that the APAR you have linked is actually connnected to your
problem. Your issue is that after the extend, a DB backup is triggered which
fails to read the database, while the APAR fails immedadiatly upon format. The
first APAR you linked is also about volume size over 250

It took a while before this email got published on adsm.org...

Now, as for new installs, or upgrades from version 5, please skip 6.1, and

Hi there Henrik
I asked a few questions to try to get a pointer.

I'm having a bad memory day. How does a client admin monitor the progress of a

Repeat after me: TSM 6.1 is dead! :)
Really, 6.1 is never a good choice, always go straight to 6.2.

Hi,
I am sure everything is configured correct at Niklas site. Test classic vs nqr

I am putting up 2-new Linux based 6.x servers that will eventually replace
older 5.5.x boxes.
My issue/question is should I go with 6.1.4.1 or 6.2.1.1?
Part of the reason for asking this is due to my bad experience with trying
to upgrade a test server from 6.1.3.4 to 6.2.1 - total failur
Like the post says, I'm trying to restore a single mailbox from an Exchange
2007 server. Everything up-to-date: client 6.2.1, TDP 6.1.2. I'm pretty sure I
got all the pre-reqs down for a restore, but here's the thing: I can restore a
mailbox in my AD OU, but not in a child domain. TDP restores t
The port is random unless you define it. You need to allow the program to
listen, once it is allowed to listen it will tell the TSM server what port to
use.
Try this on 2008 and 2008 R2: (use at your own risk, but it is what I use)

Hi
The defaults is webport 0 0 - random ports, so use webport 1552 1553
and if you use CAD open only 1552 port from server to client and 1500
(default) from client to server.

What are the default ports for the webport option?
Tcpclientport is 1501.
I am running into problems on win 2008, and need to know what are the defaults
so as to open up the firewall.
Thanks for the help.

There is a ~30minute delay between the start of the restore and the first
mount, did you have drives free for this restore?

Hi there
To begin with, TSM as a product has no issues with fast restores. If the data
isnt placed correctly, restores might slow up though.
- Did you restore files or files and directories?
- Are you storing directories on tape or in a dedicated diskpool using DIRMC?
