1) Create multiple backup schedules by splitting up the data if this is a
Windows various shared drives and have them run in parallel or group
filesystems in different schedules in AIX or Linux.
2) Use journal based backups
Check your management class and make sure it is not set to Always backup files
for an incremental backup.

I've created a new management class to point to a differnt storage pool already
exisitng. I've emptied out the storage pool and have run a backup and have seen
the percentage used increase. Is there any way of looking into the storage pool
to see what files currently reside on there ?

Is it possible to determine the compression ratio of a database backed up using
RMAN to TSM ? I would like to see some stats for the backup size of the
database when having compression enabled or disabled on the client.

Has anyone ran into problems with missed scheduled ? I know that a few missed
schedules a night may be normal, but we are getting several , more than 20, a
night . Most of the missed schedules are Oracle related backups i.e. archives
and hot backups missing their schedules . We

I would like to direct my RMAN backups to a different storage pool other than
the one I'm using in my current policy domain. Is there any way to have RMAN
point to a different storage pool without having to create a new policy domain
specifically for my RMAN backups ?
