I have the same problem here. TSM 5.3.2 on AIX 5.3 64bits. Two drives 9840 that were working properly stop functioning suddenly with messages ANR8302E I/O error on drive MYDRIVE (/dev/mt0) with volume XX (OP=WRITE, Error Number=5, CC=205, KEY=FF, ASC=FF, ASCQ=FF, SENSE=**NONE**,

I have a drive that from AIX lists as available. In TSM when i try to define a path to the drive I get an ANR8420E DEFINE PATH: An I/O error occured while accessing drive DRIVE1. and a ANS8001I Return code 15.. Then below is what appears in the AIX error report. I've doublechecked that the

We had a problem similar to yours. We had a problem when we started our TSM server up our drives failed. So I checked the /dev folder and checked to see that the tape drives were there. What happened was our device path had changed, and the new path was /dev/IBMtape0n when it originally was
