I agree with Xav, this is something you want to do with a partner that has done this kind of stuff before. There are all sorts of things that need to be sorted, if you really need to migrate the TSM db you need to upgrade to 5.4 or 5.5, then you have the issue of LTO-5 not being able to read LTO-1

This has been the migration strategy we adopted, and are right now in the middle of. New server machine, new TSM version, the client nodes make fresh, new backups spread over a period of time. The old system gradually expires away until you can get rid of it. Run the new server on 6.2.3, instead

There may be technical issues, but from what I can tell it is a religious issue for AIX vs Linux. Both are good solutions. Even a well configured Windows solutions works, but it is not my preferred solution. IMHO, a best fit solution for TSM is probably an AIX solution. But if you have no AIX

The recovery log on TSM is 95% full. I do a full DB backup everyday, which I thought would reset the log to 0%. It is in normal mode, not rollforward. Why would it be so high when I just did a full backup last night that ended at 9 PM. The log right now is 4.6 GB with 4.2 GB utilized. Any
