Nope, the Adaptec is already on the
latest Firmware (3.10.0).
I found a Linux driver link on the adaptec
site, but alas it's a broken one.

David,
In /etc/modules.conf I've set the following option:
options scsi_mod max_scsi_luns=8
I've also enabled the kernel option Probe all LUNs on each SCSI device and
recompiled the kernel. But both options don't work.

Hi,
Our config is :
TSM version 5.2.0.0 on Win2000, SP3.
TSM BA Client version 5.2.2.0
TSM TDP for MS SQL version 5.2.1.0
I'm trying to configure TSM TDP SQL on a cluster with two nodes. It has

I'm not sure exactly where the problem lies, but would make the following
observations:
- When using DSMCUTIL INSTALL, you should specify /CLUSTERNODE:YES
/CLUSTERNAME:FUNDTCLR on both nodes in addition to specifying CLUSTERNODE
YES in the DSM.OPT.

When you add a file to an EXCLUDE list, the existing file backups go to

The only thing I can think of then is to try the aic7xxx_old device driver
instead of aic7xxx.

Depending on what your retention criteria are it could take a while for all
copies to expire from TSM. One technique that has been posted to this list
is to create a management class with VERE=1, VERD=0 RETE=0 RETO=0 and assign
the files you are about to exlude to this management class and let a

We have an 8-way M80 running only TSM, and it is using all 8 processors.

Note that you cannot restore a 4.x DB to 5.x server (read the quick start

So the procedure should be something like:

No, the backup stays around forever until you delete the filespace. The option you
have is:
rename the node and perform another backup with the correct exclude and then delete
the original node after the data is no longer needed. You can also just delete that
filespace.

Hi All,
We would like to start using instant archive (backup set).
Average archive per customer is around 10GB.
We have LTO2 tapes (200/400), and it looks like that every new backup set must be

If you want data to go to a different type of tape, define a new
devclass
and stgpool(s) that will use that devclass. Once that is set up,
update
your copygroup destinations to point to the new stgpool(s).

This isn't really a better way but if you were going to go to all the trouble of
setting up a 2nd TSM server then you could have one system backup itself and the other
servers up through UNC. Then create a backupset of that one node. If it is a bunch
of 10 GB servers then they should backup
