Ensure that the DEVICE parameter associated whit the library was idetified
correctly in the DEFINE LIBRARY command, and that the library device is
currently powered on and ready. If the library hes an access door, make sure

is to simply set up a second TSM instance, point half of your clients at
it, and away you go... the first backups wil be full ones, so you may

We currently do nightly Full backups and have the TSM policy with Retain
Extra Versions = Retain Only Versions = 35.
We are looking into doing incremental backups throughout the day to provide

I have tested ASR on XP Pro, had none of the problems you describe.
I see the ASR entry on the tree list, have a subdir for ASR in adsm.sys.
The files went to a separate filespace on the server named ASR.
My XP Pro is SP1, though.

I suspect you are mixing administrative commands with backup-archive
commands. The syntax is not necessarily compatible. The client and admin
books will provide information on the syntax for the respective commands.
Alternatively, you can quickly look up syntax like this:

When restoring to an alternate server with alternate
locations, you need to specify each piece that you
are restoring, including all logical and physical
pieces involved in the backup... this is a SQL Server requirement.

I just had a customer do an upgrade similar to what you describe and
they had the same problem. It turned out that they installed both the
32 bit and 64 bit code on the machine. This is obviously not a good
thing! BTW, you will probably notice you can't register any licenses
