Issue wit IBM Library

2011-11-18 Thread Swartz, Jerome
Hi guys, We are having some issue whereby we are unable to checkin and checkout tapes in TSM. The scratch media we have in the library works quite well. It's just that it won't grab any tapes from the I/O bay nor place into the I/O bay. I suspect it's got to do with a config for the I/O bay

SV: Issue wit IBM Library

2011-11-18 Thread Christian Svensson
Hi, Have you checkin the tape with SEARCH=BULK and then run Q REQUEST to find the request number. If you run does commands and it still don't work. Run a audit on the library first. Best Regards Christian Svensson Cell: +46-70-325 1577 E-mail: christian.svens...@cristie.se Supported Platform

Hi Chistian, We have tried all of those. Checkin/checkout/label. The process will just fail after a few seconds. I believe somehow the library doesn't see the I/O bay. The audit completes successfully as well. -Original Message- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager

Have you checked the status and configuration of the TS3310 I/O Station using the library's Web User Interface? There may be a physical issue with it. In TSM interaction with the library, element addresses should be as described in http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21219973.

One thing I've found with the TS3310's is that unless you turn off the insert notification/prompt, when you put tapes in the I/O door the library will prompt you for which library to reserve the tapes for. The default is 'SYSTEM', and unless you respond to the prompt on the front panel of the

Hi Jerome, What commands are you using in order in order to checkin or checkin tape from/to the I/O station ? Aren't there any outstanding requests ? See Q REQ command. Are there any relevant TSM messages produced in the activity log while you're trying to checkin/checkout ? Note that you have

i copy records daily to a MySQL database, where i keep a year's worth of data. i can then keep the retention period low on the TSM database. MySQL is running on a salvaged box from the trash pile (it actually took several boxes to make up one good one), running CentOS Linux. reporting is done
