Hi Tsmers,
Is there any way to retain the active copy of data to Disk storage pool
while migrating the rest to tape. For example keeping the active copy on a
Disk Pool while migrating old copies to a Tape Pool.

disk pool for 1 day before they get migrated to the tape pool. I have
never used this option but it is documented.

We are giving serious thought to moving our HP-UX backup environment from
omniback to TSM (which is backing up our windows environment). We would be
interested in a BMR Product for HP-UX.

Hi Ralph,
Make sure your network settings are correct. I have had bandwidth
problems with our network switch (cisco 6509) with auto negotiation so I had
the network guys force the port the 100 full duplex on the switch and set
the client to the same setting. Then the bandwidth problems
I have had that clip installed in all the drives, so I am pretty sure that
it is a tape problem. I am sending the tapes off to Fuji for them to
investigate.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi fellow TSMer's
Has anyone had trouble with Fuji LTO-1 Tapes getting stuck in a Fire Channel
LTO-1 drive in a 3584 tape library? I ordered a batch of thirty of them a
few weeks ago it seems like at least six of them get stuck in the drive and
it gets marked offline. I have over 300+ tapes
I have a question, for some reason cannot read your attachment. Did you
check your performance with raw logical volumes? What kind of throughput
were you getting with them; it would be interesting to know? Or if any one
on the list has any experience with Tivoli, Raw logical Volumes, and LTO1
Hi all,
Here is my problem; I need to change retention policies for data for
some of the nodes already archived in a specific management class but leave
the rest of the data in that same management class unchanged. Is this
possible, Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Check your network settings on your server. Some network cards do not
Auto-negotiate with certain switches. If everything is set to
Auto-negotiate, set the network card and the port of the switch it is
plugged into to 100 MB/s Full duplex. I was getting the same throughput on
some of my TSM
Hi all,
The TSM Scheduler Service on most of my Win2k and NT4.0 boxes will
not start up after a reboot. When I go in and start the service manually it
starts up fine. I can't seem to find any errors in the Event Log. Any help
you can provide will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt
