Re: Output of Audience type for Audience reporting is not returning the actual Audience naming (e.g Travel, Shoppers etc)

2018-04-19 Thread 'Luis Xander Talag (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Arnab,

Currently, the Audience Performance Report

 does
not support the exact value that you can see in the Audience column in UI
based on your screenshot as its equivalent field which is the Criteria

 attribute
contains criteria prefixes

 or
a string representations in the form of *prefix::identifier*. However, to
match those Audience values in UI to your Audience Performance report, you
may check the identifier's value based on its type in this guide
.

Feel free to write back for any clarifications.

Thanks and regards,
Luis

Re: Removing ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting

2018-04-19 Thread 'Vincent Racaza (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Tim,

My apologies as it seems that I was using the wrong ad group ID on my
yesterday's testing when I retrieved again the ad group via the API after
removing the targeting optimization setting in the UI. And yes, you are
correct. Once you have already set the ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting
initially via the API or UI, and you removed it, it will still be retained
in your ad group with optIn

 =
false as default.

This is the current behavior for this particular ad group setting in the
API. Let me know if you have further clarifications.

Thanks,
Vincent

Re: "Connection timed out" error for reporting api

2018-04-19 Thread 'Peter Oliquino' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Kim,

When you encounter timeouts
 when
generating reports, it could mean that you maybe downloading a huge amount
of data all at once. To avoid this, I would recommend that you break down
your reports by adding filters or by narrowing down the dateRange.

However, if the data you are downloading isn't really that huge and you are
still encountering this error, could you provide your clientCustomerId and
the complete report definition

 you
used so I can further investigate? You may reply to me via the *Reply
privately to author* option.

"Connection timed out" error for reporting api

2018-04-19 Thread Kim Walker
We have been using the AdWords reporting API since December and downloading
reporting data once a day since without any issues.

In the last 3 weeks we have been getting a "Connection timed out" error for
the download more and more often, to the point none of our downloads are
completing. It seems the account and report dates don't impact the error,
but we are getting the error for the geographic reporting.

Has anything changed in the reporting service that we need to correct? It
seems there is no service status dashboard, has the service been down at
all? Any help would be appreciated.

However, when we get the the ExplorerAutoOptimizerSetting of this ad group

Re: java.lang.NullPointerException: Unknown field name: null.

2018-04-19 Thread 'Nadine Sundquist (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hello Ray,

It turns out the source of your NullPointer is because in the Display Name
of the ReportDefinitionService, there's a value of 'Policy' returned as you
can see by our documentation for the PolicySummary
.

That does not align with what is coming back in the report header right
now, which is 'Ad policies'. The difference between the two is causing an
issue. I've filed an issue with my team to try to get this fixed. In the
meantime, you could possibly modify your code to catch this and continue
since you now know what this is. I don't have a current timeline on the
fix, but I will keep this thread updated when it does get fixed.

Best,
Nadine, AdWords API Team

Campaign level AdExtension. However, it seems like there are 6 Campaign
StructureSnippet AdExtension not returned back from this API.

Can you please help investigate the issue here? I can past the RequestId to
you privately when needed.

Thank you very much for your help!

Caihua.

"Main structured snippet feed" vs."Main structured snippets feed"

2018-04-19 Thread Caihua Du
Hi there,

We we calling FeedService APi to fetch the feed list, it looks like we get
back two FeedId for Structured snippet feed. Both of them seems to be
enabled, but I believe we only have one channel to create the structured
snipped from WebUI.

Can you please explain what are the difference? Are both of them valid?

* Name: Main structured snippet feed (FeedId: 32823375)
* Name: Main structured snippets feed (FeedId: 35127676).

Thanks,

Hi,

The error that you
receive:ExtensionSettingError.PROMOTION_CANNOT_SET_PERCENT_OFF_AND_MONEY_AMOUNT_OFF

is because you will need to assign a value of -1 for field:percentOff when
you set a value for field:moneyAmountOff. Similarly, when you set a value
for field:ordersOverAmount, you will need to assign a value of '' to
field:promotionCode. Please refer attachment:SOAP.xml for a sample SOAP
request and let me know if you have any further questions.

Re: Product group creation fails inside adgroup

2018-04-19 Thread 'Bharani Cherukuri (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hello,

It looks like you're performing a Mutate() operation for the shopping
campaigns. The CAMPAIGN_TYPE_NOT_COMPATIBLE_WITH_PARTIAL_FAILURE error

Can you make sure that each subdivision is completely partitioned, so it

Re: Value for userInterestParentId field when adding audience

2018-04-19 Thread Matthew Wawrin
Hi,

Mea culpa, I was looking at the affinity list and not in-market list.
There were removed brands in the in-market list but only a few. I didn't
realize the ids that were causing errors were only 5 unique values, and
the brands I see removed make sense they're gone. (Hummer, Pontiac, etc).
Sorry for the confusion. Ticket is open to sync with the
ConstantDataService and we should get this in shortly.

Matt.

Hey Peter!

First off, so sorry for the late reply, I had "Email updates to me"

Onto the matter at hand: I must have missed that! I see because I was
approaching it by looking in Age/Gender Reports for Ad level attributes I
missed it in the Ad Performance Report! I'll definitely pass this on to our

Thank you for your time Peter! Will let you know if we managed to sort this

How they get more

Hey, I am using adwords API for a month now I am exploring Idea Suggest
Service. I am Getting keyword Ideas which works great. But when I look some
already developed tools they just amaze me with great bunch of data which
is mostly cannot be found in adwords API's Idea Suggest service results.
Also not in Bing or Yahoo APIs

Can you please suggest or give some Idea about why they are so powerful ?
Are they using algorithms or rich databases or some other API or they have
developed their own service like adwords

Update promotion type/details with API for PromotionExtension

2018-04-19 Thread wtemmerman
Hi everyone,

I have a little issue with the API, to update a PromotionExtension
(Operator SET)
In Adwords I have a PromotionExtension, with a percent discount. And It's
impossible to update this feedItem, and change it to monetary discount.

Operation 0 - FAILURE:
operation={
'xsi_type': 'CustomerExtensionSettingOperation',
'operand': {
'extensionSetting': {
'extensions': [
{
'xsi_type': 'PromotionFeedItem',
'discountModifier': 'UP_TO',
'promotionTarget': 'Test de promotion',
'language': 'EN',
'moneyAmountOff': {
'money': {
'microAmount': 11500
},
'currencyCode': 'CAD'
},
'promotionCode': 'B152Q',
'promotionEnd': '20180606 00',
'occasion': 'VALENTINES_DAY',
'finalUrls': {
'urls': ['https://httpstat.us/200']
},
'feedItemId': 35607278998,
'promotionStart': '20180101 00'
}
]
},
'extensionType': 'PROMOTION'
},
'operator': 'SET'
}

errorType=ExtensionSettingError
trigger=None
errorString=ExtensionSettingError.PROMOTION_CANNOT_SET_PERCENT_OFF_AND_MONEY_AMOUNT_OFF
fieldPath=operations[0].operand.extensionSetting.extensions[0].moneyAmountOff
reason=PROMOTION_CANNOT_SET_PERCENT_OFF_AND_MONEY_AMOUNT_OFF

This what I send to update, and the error return by the API.
My question is :

- Is it normal ? because by the UI of Adwords Beta, it's possible to update
the promotion type.
- Did I forgot something to send to the API ? (I tried to send the key
'percentOff' with None value)

I have the same problem with *Promotion Code* to *On overs order *

Thanks for your help

Product group creation using java api doesn't work

rootNode = rootNode.asSubdivision();

rootNode.

addChild(ProductDimensions.createBrand("brand_value"))

.asBiddableUnit();

rootNode.addChild(ProductDimensions.createBrand(null))

.asExcludedUnit();

List mutateOperations =

adwordsClientUtil.getAdGroupCriterionService("accountId");

AdGroupCriterionReturnValue adGroupCriterionResult =

adGroupCriterionService.mutate(

Product group creation fails inside adgroup

2018-04-19 Thread sandip . mukherjee
Hi API team,
I am trying to create product groups inside an adGroup using
ProductPartitionTree of Adwords Java api.
In the below example I try to partition the data based on brand value.
My code is:

AdWordsServicesInterface adWordsServices = AdWordsServices.getInstance
();
AdWordsSession adWordsSession = adwordsClientUtil.
buildAdWordsSession("accountId");
adWordsSession.setPartialFailure(false);
ProductPartitionTree productPartitionTree =
ProductPartitionTree.createAdGroupTree(adWordsServices,
adWordsSession,adGroupId);

ProductPartitionNode rootNode = productPartitionTree.getRoot();

rootNode = rootNode.asSubdivision();
rootNode.
addChild(ProductDimensions.createBrand("brand_name"))
.asBiddableUnit();

rootNode.addChild(ProductDimensions.createBrand(null))
.asExcludedUnit();

List mutateOperations =
productPartitionTree.getMutateOperations();

AdGroupCriterionServiceInterface adGroupCriterionService
= adwordsClientUtil.getAdGroupCriterionService("
accountId");

AdGroupCriterionReturnValue adGroupCriterionResult =
adGroupCriterionService.mutate(
mutateOperations.toArray(new
AdGroupCriterionOperation[0]));
LOGGER.info(adGroupCriterionResult.getValue()[0].toString());

When I try to execute this code I get the following error for all mutate
operations.

*CAMPAIGN_TYPE_NOT_COMPATIBLE_WITH_PARTIAL_FAILURE*

I cannot figure out what is the actual error/failure reason.
Could anyone from API team help me on this.

Re: AdWords limit problem

2018-04-19 Thread 'Peter Oliquino' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Upon testing on my end, the current limit for the Description2

 field
of the CallOnlyAd

 is
at 35 characters only. Unfortunately, there is no workaround as to how you
can be able to pass a maximum of 80 characters for this field using the
AdWords API. For now, you may keep an eye on our blog
 for any
updates related to this ad and its fields.

AdWords limit problem

2018-04-19 Thread sa
Hi,

Another issue I encountered is that I checked the Limit documentation here
 where the
character limits of the description fields are set at 35/38 characters. I
got an error AdError.LINE_TOO_WIDE

 because
it exceeds the API character limit for that field; however, when I logged
into in the AdWords UI dashboard, the ad limit for that field of that ad is
80 characters. Will this ever going to change or are there any workaround?
Because being able to copy the ad description and create a new ad off it is
rather important to the main functionality of our application. The
following SOAP request and response is the error I got for this caught
limit error:
