RE: API to get all accounts

2019-07-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Sibtain,

Thank you for providing the responses and I'm sorry for the confusion.

Upon checking the ManagedCustomerService is working correctly as the client
account (138-664-0593) is indeed the only account associated under the MCC
account (447-120-0739), and the service returned the account correctly.

With regard to Customer Service, I couldn't see the error in the log you
provided. With this, so I can further investigate the issue, could you provide
the complete SOAP request and response logs via Reply privately to author? If
you haven't enabled logging, please check the logging guide in the respective

RE: Private message regarding: Offline Conversion EXPIRED_CLICK - GCLID valid in Click Performance Report and < 90 days

2019-07-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Mark,

Thank you for providing the logs privately.

The EXPIRED_CLICK error you are encountering means that the click you are
trying to upload a conversion to is too old or have occurred before the
conversion window for the specified combination of conversion date and
conversion name (default is 30 days). Upon investigation, the GCLID you are
trying to upload a conversion to may have reached past the 30 days default
conversion window. You may refer to this guide for more details.

You will need to check the ctcLookBackWindow duration to check the conversion
window time. If it has indeed went past the duration, then there can no longer
be any way to upload the said click into your account.

RE: Private message regarding: True Final Url with all tracking parameters

Hi,

Thank you for providing the screenshots privately. I was investigating the
account 745-XXX- and could see that there are metrics generated for this
account. However, upon getting a better understanding of your concern, it
appears that the API does not support reports on a tracking level as indicated
in your UI screenshot.

You could refer to this mapping guide to see the equivalent report Ad
Performance Report (under Ads Report) and the Final Url Report (under Final URL
Report) in the UI instead as these are the closest reports that you can use.

RE: Python response success or failure logging

2019-07-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Richard,

Looking at the SOAP response, it appears that no elements were
returned. This should indicate that your conversion upload request has been
successful. You can refer to this documentation to determine which possible
errors would be returned when using the OfflineConversionFeedService.

Additionally, you can refer to this section of our tracking and importing
conversions guide in order to avoid validation errors when uploading
conversions and ensure that your requests are successful. I hope this helps.

Hi Denis,

The Criteria Performance Report does not really have a Google Ads UI equivalent
view or report as you can see in our API to UI report mapping guide. That being
said, so that I can identify which report you should be comparing against the
Google Ads UI, and so that I could investigate further if there are indeed
discrepancies, could you send to me the complete screenshot of the UI?

You may reply using the Reply privately to author option.

RE: Possible to retrieve invoices through API?

2019-07-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Ankur,

AdWords API reports can only be generated per client account as discussed here.
If what you wish is to retrieve the reports for all client accounts under a
specific MCC account, you can refer to the Parallel Report Download example
(also available in other languages) as this should allow you to do just that.

As for invoice information, this is currently not supported in the AdWords API.
You may continue to follow our blog for updates.

First time using API of Ad Words

2019-07-30 Thread Juan Carlos Blanco Delgado
Hello guys,

My apologies for this question. There is a lot of information and google
offers a lot of how to start.

I just need short guide of how to start.

I am a python developer (junior, just to be clear) so I would like to use
python to use my Google Adwords Account and retrieve data of my campaigns,
such as impressions per keyword and landing page, or negative list that
belongs to a specific campaign.

I have this github tutorial which looks amazing
https://github.com/googleads/googleads-python-lib

Could you tell me is there is something similar or something else???

I just need a jump to start because between ads script, AWQL and the api
calls I am a little confused.

Thank you!

How to push call detail records to Google Ads via API?

2019-07-30 Thread P Grim
Hello Google Ads gurus,

I am a data analyst, not a developer, so I know nothing about Google Ads or
APIs. However, I've been tasked with gathering information about how to
accomplish a certain project.

We wish to enable our clients to import their call detail records (CDRs)
from our system into their Google Ads accounts so that they can report
calls as conversions and see how their phone campaigns are performing
alongside their Google Ads campaigns. We want to provide them with
everything they need in order to do this (API, etc.)

Our peers in this space are already doing this so we know we're not
breaking new ground here. See Invoca
 and Callrail
 for examples. This
is the functionality we wish to emulate but we don't know where to start.

Questions:

   1. Can the Google Ads API enable this functionality "as-is"? Or, do we
   need to customize the API?
   2. What data fields can we push to Google Ads?
   3. Does the source data need to reside anywhere in particular (e.g.
   within a specific database)?
   4. How do the credentials work to ensure each client can only access
their own call data and not any other client's call data? Do we have to
build a security layer on our side to restrict access to the source data?

We have never worked in any capacity with Google Ads before so any guidance
you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Paul

Problem with getting Impressions data from Criteria Performance Report

2019-07-30 Thread Denis Mazur
Hi,

I have problem with getting Impressions data from Criteria Performance
Report
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/reports/criteria-performance-report

The request which we send by API:
SELECT Id, Criteria, ClickType, Date, Clicks, AverageCost, Cost, Impressions
, CampaignId, CampaignName, AdGroupId, AdGroupName
FROM CRITERIA_PERFORMANCE_REPORT
DURING 20190722, 20190722

For one keyword, we get two types of ClickType:

   - Headline
   - Phone calls

Data that we get by API:
Headline:

   - Impressions: 1333
   - Clicks: 57
   - Cast: $ 203.52

Phone calls:

   - Impressions: 163
   - Clicks: 1
   - Cast: $ 3.90

Summary data that we get by API:

   - Impressions: 1496 - wrong data
   - Clicks: 58 - correct data
   - Cast: $ 207,42 - correct data

The data that we see in the Google Ads interface:

   - Impressions: 1333
   - Clicks: 58
   - Cast: $ 207,42

If we sum Impressions data it does not match with the data in the
interface, although all other data match when summing data.

Any way to pass searchers location through a URL parameter?

2019-07-30 Thread Justin Gacina
I have a headline on my landing page that grabs URL parameters and inserts
them into the headline.

For example: [grab location from url parameter] Plumbing Services -> Los
Angeles Plumbing Services

I want to pass the searcher's location through a URL parameter so I can
fetch it for the headline.

I know that this is possible through the {loc_physical_ms} ValueTrack
parameter but it returns a code instead of a town/city name.

I'm sure I could find a way to convert the numeric code into a town name,
but I'm very code inept and this will take some time.

In the meantime, I'm wondering if there is any other way to do this.

Can you convert the {loc_physical_ms} on AdWords side so it puts the
town/city name instead of the code in the URL parameter?

p.s.

I currently use ad customizers to display relevant locations to searchers
(Los Angeles Plumbing Services)

There's no way to put this ad customizer value into the URL parameters
right? That would be the ideal solution for me.

Thanks so much to anyone with insight.

Justin

Help Setting Up Test Account and Test Manager

2019-07-30 Thread Richard Hogg
Hi All,

I know this maybe very simple to most of you, unfortunately i'm not a API
Dev, but a Google Ads Account Manager trying to setup our Dev on our
accounts to make API calls etc...

We currently have a MCC with around 10-15 accounts live

My understanding so far (after reading the setup guides) is to do the
following..

- Setup a Google Account (work email not associated with a production
account - test-mana...@ourdomain.com)
- Setup a New Google MCC Account (using the test-mana...@ourdomain.com
account )and set it as a Test account.

Now this is where i get confused..

Why does this have to be separate to our production accounts? and how can
our Dev access our production accounts?

Is there a way to link them?

If anyone could explain step by step in a "dummies guide" way, it would be
really appreciated as im getting confused with these different accounts

Also im assuming our Dev also has to have access to the Google Ads API
Console to setup OArth2 etc..

Kind Regards,
Rich.

Hi Lukasz,

CustomerSyncService does not report serving status changes. As a workaround,
you could look at the campaign's end date in CampaignService or in reports to
see if that date has passed.

Re: How to use Adwords API for an unlinked MCC account?

2019-07-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hello Mark,

Could you please confirm whether that API contact email has admin access to the
existing MCC account whose OAuth credentials you are using in the API call? You
can check this from the account access section of you Google Ads Account via
UI. If you are still facing the problem, please share the email address that is
used to create those OAuth credentials, MCC id of the old/existing account and
the new MCC account id using reply privately to the author option to check
further.

Re: How to use Adwords API for an unlinked MCC account?

2019-07-30 Thread 'Mark Trapani' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

I'm using Adwords API.

The API contact email in the original MCC account has admin access to the
new MCC.

Now I tried to use the OAuth2 credential information from the original MCC
with the Adwords API info (dev_token, client_customer_id, user_agent) from
the new MCC but im getting a AuthorizationError(USER_PERMISSION_DENIED)

Any clue why this is happening?

Assign a newly created Ad to multiple AdGroups?

2019-07-30 Thread Suresh Kumar Shenbagam
Hi,

Is it possible to assign a newly created ad to multiple adgroups? For
example,

I am creating a ExpandedTextAd and set the the ad and adgroupid to
AdGroupAd and then a new ad has been created.
Then I use the adId / ad Object to associate with multiple AdGroups, is
this possible?

// Ad ad = createExpandedAd();
-
AdGroupAd a1 = new AdgroupAd();
a1.setAd(ad);
a1.setAdGroupId(1234);
AdgroupAdService.save(a1);
--

AdGroupAd a2  = new AdGroupAd();
a2.setAd(ad);
a2.setAdGroupId(3456);
AdgroupAdService.save(a2);

How many ads will be created if I use the above code?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

You need to supply all the necessary credentials in the 'googleads.yaml' such
as the developer token, client secret, client Id, etc.

If you want to get further support on how to configure the 'googleads.yaml' or
to enable logging of SOAP for the for Python client library, you may contact

RE: True Final Url with all tracking parameters

2019-07-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi,

Thank you for reaching out.

If you wish to download report on the final URL level, you could use the Final
Url Report. You may select the Cost, EffectiveFinalUrl, and
EffectiveTrackingUrlTemplate fields for the metrics you are looking for.
However, if you wish to retrieve the final Url suffix (CreativeFinalUrlSuffix),
you can only retrieve this using the Ad Performance Report.

Regarding your concern about your reports not generating data, could you
provide the complete report definition and the clientCustomerId used to
download the report so I could further investigate this? You may use the reply

Let me know if this does not answer your concern.

But when I look in the yaml file, it's just not clear (at least to me) what

True Final Url with all tracking parameters

2019-07-30 Thread Marketing Analytics
Hi I am looking to report spend by the final landing page URL with all
tracking parameters in it.
I tried to get the tracking template, suffix and prefix that are being used
in the accounts and I get empty values.
I tried the landing page and extended landing page reports in the Google
Ads web interface and the spreadsheet export also shows empty values even
though the settings are present and can be tested with the tracking
template preview. When I called support about this they said the report
exports are unable to export tracking templates and such properly. Is this
true?
Is it possible to get the spend by URL via API?

Offline Conversion EXPIRED_CLICK - GCLID valid in Click Performance Report and < 90 days

2019-07-30 Thread Marky Poo
Greetings,

I am getting EXPIRED_CLICK on many conversions when the Conversion Time is
well under the 90 day window (June 11, 2019). I checked for the GCLID in
the Click Performance Report and it does exist in the right account with
the same date (day). I have tried changing the Conversion Time adjusting
it up and down and changing the time zone, but continue to get the same
error.

Here is one of the GCLID's that should be
valid:
Cj0KCQiAuf7fBRD7ARIsACqb8w5DMOLAQIBUzhbO04NPO3V5UjFFPuYd63hCc0QXQlaVWVBD-CarsQwaAjLvEALw_wcB

Thank you for any help.

RE: Campaing Audience details settings using API.

2019-07-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Arnab,

Thank you for reaching out.

Kindly refer to my response below for your queries.

1) Audience details like Laptops and Networks.
To get audience details, you have to use the AdWordsUserListService.get(). You
can also get other audience details by downloading the Audience Performance
Report. However, I am afraid that the details you are pertaining to such as
Laptops and networks are not supported in this service. Could you confirm if
you are pertaining to campaign criterion Platform and the campaign
networkSetting?

2) Campaign URL (with UTM or DCM tracking)
To update these campaign settings, you may use the CampaignService.mutate() and
set the urlCustomParameters, trackingUrlTemplate, or the finalUrlSuffix of the
campaign. You may refer to this sample code (also available in different
languages) on how to update your campaign. You may also refer to our Parallel
Tracking guide for more details in setting up these parameters.

3) Select the ways you'd like to reach your goal
Could you confirm if you are pertaining to campaign goals? If yes, I am afraid
this is not supported in the API.

For the limitation in the AdWords API, you may refer to this documentation.

Dannison

Re: First impression or creation date of a keyword

2019-07-30 Thread Google Ads API Forum Advisor Prod
Hi Juan,

Thanks for the reply. Please see my answer below for each of your question.

First, the FinalUrls field returns the list of landing pages of your ads.

Then, before we proceed to your question on how to download a report, I noticed
that you've used 'LIKE' operator in the report definition. However, this
operator is not supported in the AdWords Query Language (AWQL). With this,
instead of using the 'LIKE' operator, you can use the 'CONTAINS' as its usage
is the same.

For your convenience, you can use these sample codes (which is also available
in other supported client libraries) to download the report. Provided in this
link are all the supported download formats that you can use based on your
preferences.

Moving forward to your question about retrieving the actual name of the
keywords, you may include the Criteria field in the report.

As for your last question, you can only filter dates by using them in the
DURING clause. I hope this has been helpful.
