Developer Token Application

2024-01-04 Thread 'Simon Zhang' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Google Ads API Team,

My client have submitted an application for a Google Ads developer token (
*Basic* access). The application was submitted on 2023-07-21. However,
there is no immediate case confirmation email nor following any responses.
The client resubmitted the application on 2024-1-3. However, there are
still no response.

Their Google Ads Manager Account ID is 658-930-5892, however there is no
case ID due to no email at all. I am kindly wondering if anyone can help on
this case.

Thanks,
Simon

Status of assets in a newly created performance max campaign is still being under review

2022-07-25 Thread 'Simon' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hello,

i've created performance max campaign by google ads api, but the campaign
assets are still under review. I know it can take some time to review
assets but this is taking far to long.
Some of my campaigns were set up over a week ago and their assets are still
under review.
I've also notice that after duplicating a campaign, assets change status
from "under review" to "approved" much more quickly.

I would also like to add that the campaigns are generated without any
errors.

Do you know why the assets in a campaign created by the google ads api are
not approved, while they are approved in a duplicate campaign?

Thank you for help.
Szymon

Do I have tu remove cookie tracking as soon as I start to upload offline

Or does the server sort it out anyway ?

Hi and thanks for your answer!
Actually I was looking for some kind of "ready to use/modify" code...
I'm pretty sure someone has already coded such a simple conversion

Minimalist conversion tracking

2022-06-03 Thread Simon
Hi,

I'm running an online business selling ebooks, with 100% online sales,
mostly through Youtube Ads.
Our cookie-based conversions are always off about 20 to 30% and the
algorithm doesn't seem to like it...
I would like to feed my *actual* conversions to Google servers through the
API.

I'm used to be a developer in a former life and I've coded our backoffice
myself, but digging into the depths of the API is a lot!

I'm looking for a very simple implementation, nothing fancy.
I just need to have some kind of click-ID (first click on the ad) and then
send it back to Google along with my conversion data...
Does someone have any pointers for me please ?
Thanks,

Simon

ad_group_ad_asset_view for responsive display ads (RDA) and responsive search ads (RSA)

2021-07-15 Thread 'Simon Kreienbaum' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi there,

do you have an estimate when it will be possible to report on RSAs and RDAs
broken down by individual asset or most popular combination of assets
similar to what you can do with *ad_group_ad_asset_view* for App Ads?

I am aware that I can fetch all assets (e.g. descriptions) that belong to
such a an ad but I would need to get performance & cost by asset (i.e.
performance of each individual description).

https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/fields/v8/ad_group_ad_asset_view

Thanks,
Simon

Empty data from shopping_performance_report

2021-01-25 Thread Simon Greiner

Hi Google Ads API Team,

I have an Google Ads Account with an master account and some subaccounts.
In the past all campaigns ran on the master account. But now I want the
cost to be more specific so I transferred some campaigns to an subaccount.

When I try to download the “SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT” I only get empty
data like --, --, --, --, --, --, 0 ,-- and so on. I don’t receive error
messages or so.

I have done this before with another subaccount and it worked perfectly. So
it should actually work, but it doesn’t.

The params are:

{

'reportName': 'Custom SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT',

'dateRangeType': 'CUSTOM_DATE',

'reportType': 'SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT',

'downloadFormat': 'CSV',

'selector': {

'fields': ['AccountDescriptiveName',

   'AdGroupId',

   'AdGroupName',

   'AdGroupStatus',

   'AdNetworkType1',

   'AdNetworkType2',

   'CampaignId',

   'CampaignName',

   'CampaignStatus',

   'Clicks',

   'Cost',

   'Date',

   'Device',

   'ExternalCustomerId',

   'Impressions',

   'MerchantId',

   'OfferId',

   'SearchAbsoluteTopImpressionShare',

   'SearchClickShare'],

'dateRange': {*date of yesterday*,

*date of yesterday*}

}

Request Summary: {'includeZeroImpressions': 'False', 'skipReportSummary':
'False', 'skipColumnHeader': 'False', 'clientCustomerId': 'xxx-xxx-
(the client customer id of the subaccount)', 'skipReportHeader': 'True',
'server': 'adwords.google.com', 'isError': False}

Response: Account,Ad group ID,Ad group,Ad group state,Network,Network (with
search partners),Campaign ID,Campaign,Campaign
state,Clicks,Cost,Day,Device,Customer ID,Impressions,MC Id,Item Id,Search
abs. top IS,Click shareTotal, --, --, --, --, --, --, --, --,0 …

Do I have to change some settings in Google Ads account? I think settings
are identical to the account that works.

Can you please help?

Kind regards,

Simon

Hello all, new member and developer

2020-11-17 Thread Simon Young
Hi,

I'm developing a Google Adwords tool, as a Google Partner how do I get
approval to get kickback? I keep getting people like Wordstream etc.
offering to add my account to their MCC as a sub account with promises of
2% kickback on ads spend, but surely if I have built my own tool with the
future to roll it out to others to use I can qualify for the cashback?

Help would be appreciated.

Simon

Google Ads API - Dart Libraries/SDK

2020-10-12 Thread Simon Hill

Any news when this may be released, or if it's on the horizon?
Google is pushing DART as it's own internal language for projects, many of
the other APIs are also available in Dart, however Google Ads API is
strangely missing from this.
https://pub.dev/packages/googleapis

Even the new Google interface and platform was built in Dart.

Thoughts or news on this matter?

I am having the same issue here. Adding or removing members seems supported
by Adwords but not by Google Ads API. I contacted support and there were
not able to confirm this.

Google ads api beta remove item from feed

2020-02-05 Thread Simon

Hey.
I'm trying to remove items from feed with new google ads api beta, but i
don't know how to do that.
I have something like that:

feed_item_operation = clinet.get_type('FeedItemOperation', version='v2')
feed_item = feed_item_operation.remove
# What should i write here?

feed_item_service = client.get_service('FeedItemService', version='v2')
response = feed_item_service.mutate_feed_items(customer_id, feed_item)

This is now resolved.
For anyone interested it was because I was using 'predicate' when it should

Cannot link Merchant center account to Adwords getServiceLinks always empty

2019-08-01 Thread Simon Leigh
Note that authentication is with the master account id for both the adwords
and merchant center master accounts.
I create a merchant center account with the adwords id in it.
On the adwords UI it shows the pending link to merchant center.

However to accept the link using the api you need to first use
getServiceLinks.

The following xml returns nothing (as does everything else I have tried).
(It doesn't error - just returns nothing)
It should return the pending link. So I can get a handle on it to accept it.

Any ideas?

CANNOT_CREATE_ACCOUNT ManagedCustomerServiceError.UNKNOWN

2019-07-20 Thread Simon Leigh
Hi,
I'm trying to create client accounts in a master adwords account using the
API with Soap (No client library).

http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/;
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance; xmlns:xsd="

="https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/cm/v201809;>

ADD

123
GBP
Europe/London

It seems to understand the request.
I can manually add client accounts in the ui.
It's set to Basic api access.
Authentication is working
If I leave out the currencycode for example it returns a pleasant error
saying ti needs to be in there.

What am I missing?
Thanks
Simon

Re: Google Ads API returning to beta?!

2019-07-04 Thread Simon Gough
I was in the process of planning to update to this API.
I'm guessing it's best I stick with the `v201809` API for now.

Is there going to be an update to the sunset of the `v201809` API? This was
planned for early 2020 wasn't it?

2019-05-22 Thread Simon Friedrich
I'm using my Raspberry Pi 3 with the Broadcom BCM2837 and an armv7. I was
not able to downgrade the Kernel to v6. I followed the Github manual for
the AIY Voice Kit (
https://github.com/google/aiyprojects-raspbian/blob/aiyprojects/HACKING.md)
and at

1.   "sudo apt-get install -y aiy-python-wheels" i got this exception.
I'm not sure but i think the problem is the Kernel version v7.
Do anyone know how to downgrade the kernel ore otherwise solve this problem?

alten OAuth clienet löschen

2019-04-01 Thread Simon Friedrich
Hallo,

Simon

AdWords API application

2018-03-09 Thread Simon Kassab
Hi,

I want to create a bid management tool using AdWords API, however I was
wondering how difficult it is from your experience to get granted API access?

Thanks

Re: Migrating from v201702 - major oversight related to google-api-ruby-client gem?

2018-02-04 Thread Simon
Hi Peter,

Just to add some final detail in case anyone else comes across this with
the same issue... Updating past API v201702 requires minimum version 0.24
of the google-api-ads-ruby gem, but that version removes support for p12
key files for service accounts, yet we were using them. (The issue wasn't
related to any other gems in the end). So we've been forced to change how
we do oauth2 authentication or else our adwords processing will stop
working. It's now done, and wasn't actually too bad in the end.

I appreciate the specifics of this relate to ruby gems and not just the
pure adwords API itself, but I do think that the frequency that we're
forced to update the API is very poor. There should be no reason to force
API users to have to upgrade that frequently. I appreciate you may want to
continuously tweak functionality and fix issues, but try looking at how
vendors like Stripe manage their API. Their older versions still function
perfectly well. Yes, if we want to use new functionality then of course an
upgrade would be necessary. But if not, we should be able to continue using
older versions of the API near-indefinitely without them being disabled.

Re: Migrating from v201702 - major oversight related to google-api-ruby-client gem?

2018-01-26 Thread Simon
Hi Peter,

Thanks! But this is more a Google API issue, because Google keeps
sunsetting versions forcing site owners to constantly upgrade. The problem
seems to be that v201705 includes something that no longer works with the
V0.23.0 of the gem. And the gem is also owned by Google, so I'd like to
avoid getting into a thing where the Google API guys pass me to the Google
Open Source guys and vice-versa. Presumably you guys talk to each other, so
are you able to please advise what has happened here and why v201705 no
longer appears to be usable?

Cheers
Simon

Migrating from v201702 - major oversight related to google-api-ruby-client gem?

2018-01-24 Thread Simon
Hi,

We need to migrate from v201702 as it's being discontinued on 14th Feb. But
there seems to be a major issue with anyone using
Google's google-api-ruby-client gem. If we simply up the API version to
v201705 or later in the config, we get a 'AdsCommon::Errors::Error:
Environment 'PRODUCTION' does not support version 'v201705'' error. It
looks like this issue is because we're using google-adwords-api V0.23.0 and
google-api-client V0.8.6, and these don't support anything later than
v201702. But if we upgrade google-adwords-api to V0.24.0 or above, it
requires google-api-client of V0.9 or above, which is fundamentally
different to previous versions and requires a major rewrite of all code.

So, basically, in order to migrate to v201705 or later, we have to
completely rewrite all of our code. Is this really the case?

Cannot retrieve Adwords Express Campaign from the API

2018-01-02 Thread Simon
Hello,

As explained in the title, I am currently trying to retrieve informations
about an Adwords Express campaign from the API but it does not seem to work
at all. This campaign comes from another Managed Account and I can see on
the Adwords homepage that I am getting this message:

"Your AdWords Express ads can be managed only in your AdWords Express
account."

What does it mean? Does it mean that I cannot retrieve informations (such
as CPM, CPC, Cost...) from the API with the Manager Account Client Customer
ID being provided to the Adwords API?

Best regards,

Simon

Operations operator required problem [error handling]

2017-11-10 Thread Simon Thomsen
Hello,
I've a problem when trying to create ads.

At the moment, I remove all ads that conflicts with a policy issue etc.

After that, I try to create an mutate with the operations that is left (the
ads with problems have I removed like mentioned in this
article:
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/samples/php/error-handling).

I've copy pasted the code from that page, but when the script tries to run
the mutate function again, I get this error:
http://st.d.pr/2JLMpi

What does that mean and how can I do, so it disappears?

Setting AdGroup bid not permitted

2017-07-20 Thread david . simon
Hi,

I'm trying to modify the CPM bid of an adgroup through the PHP API but i'm
getting this error:

[2017-07-20 09:28:28] AW_SOAP.WARNING: clientCustomerId=6166649032
> operations=1 service=AdGroupService method=mutate responseTime=297

> isFault=1
> faultMessage=[OperationAccessDenied.OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CAMPAIGN_TYPE
> @ operations[0].operand.biddingStrategyConfiguration.biddingStrategyType;
> trigger:'DISPLAY']
>

Which I guess means the operations failed because it is not permitted on
display campaigns, but on the adwords website it IS permitted, so I really
don't get this error.

Heres the relevant code:

$cpmBid = $adGroup->getBiddingStrategyConfiguration()->getBids()[0];
$cpmBid->getBid()->setMicroAmount(10*100);

$operation = new AdGroupOperation();
$operation->setOperand($adGroup);
$operation->setOperator(Operator::SET);

$operations[] = $operation;
$adGroupService->mutate($operations);

Where am I going wrong?

Thank you in advance!

Re: Check if keyword exists, how to

Do you have some kind of simple working sample for this.
I've tried to receive true/false if a keyword exists, but the API seems a
little bit hard to figured out.

Hope you can help.

How to get active keywords via. API?

2017-01-08 Thread Simon Thomsen
Hello people,
I'm trying to fetch the keywords on my Adwords account via. API.

At the moment, I'm getting the keywords without problems, except one
problem.
It looks like I keep getting removed keywords in my output.

In my system I can see, that I should have 8 keywords, but the API is
showing me 9 keywords.

Here is the code:

$query = 'SELECT Id, CriteriaType, KeywordText LIMIT 0,100';
$page = $campaignService->query($query);

Is there a way to say something like "WHERE Status = "ENABLED" like you can
on campaigns?

(I need to check whether the keyword exists on my account, just for anyone
wondering what I'm using this for)

Looking forward to hear from you :-)

ReportDownloadError.ERROR_GETTING_RESPONSE_FROM_BACKEND

2014-08-22 Thread Simon
Hello,

I am constantly getting:

ReportDownloadError.ERROR_GETTING_RESPONSE_FROM_BACKEND
Trigger: Unable to read report data
Field Path: None

I am only really able to actual download the report maybe once every 7-8
times or so when I try to do so on from the server. However, locally, this
works fine.

Do you have any ideas?

AWQL DateRangeTypes

2014-06-25 Thread René Simon
Hi there,

I can't find a list of all DateRangeTypes. Here I mean the textual once.

There are: YESTERDAY, LAST_7_DAYS.
And CUSTOM_DATE and ALL_TIME are not supported.

So please point me to the full list of supported or existing textual
DateRangeTypes in AWQL.

Thanks a lot.

SelectorError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME / Get GetCampaignCriterionService v201309

2013-10-30 Thread Simon Gow
Is anyone else experiencing problems with selectors in v201309?

https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/selectorfields#v201309-CampaignCriterionService
says
CriteriaSamples
CriteriaCoverage
Parameter
should be available under this service for v201309 but queries against the
api using these selectors result in an error:

SelectorError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME @ serviceSelector;
trigger:'CriteriaCoverage', SelectorError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME @
serviceSelector; trigger:'CriteriaSamples',
SelectorError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME @ serviceSelector; trigger:'Parameter']

I realise these used to be beta features, but they should be enabled now?
Just wondering if they are a beta feature still, as the API documentation
says they should be available.

(These selectors relate to the webpage Campaign Criterion)

Cheers

Re: Is it possible to get 'Display Network only' through the keywords performance report?

Thanks Oliver (and Anash for marking this)

I've been looking at some of our data from the last few days and it looks
like display network data for some campaigns is being included in the

is this difference, and can I reliably exclude/ignore any display network
data from the keyword performance report and use the data from the Display
keyword performance report?

Thanks again

Experience a lot RATE_EXCEEDED for CustomerSyncService

2013-09-06 Thread Simon
We are using CustomerSyncService for couple of months, everything works
fine. But recently we start to see a lot RATE_EXCEEDED exception, even try
to send less requests, still not improve. This slows down
CustomerSyncService a lot.

This is what we got:
 faultcodesoap:Server/faultcode
faultstring[RateExceededError lt;rateName=RequestsPerMinute,
rateKey=developer_qps, rateScope=DEVELOPER,
retryAfterSeconds=30gt;]/faultstring

Do you know if there's any policy changed recently?

CustomerSyncService: 1 paused campaign with a 1 second range still causing TOO_MANY_CHANGES error

2013-01-21 Thread Simon
I have a campaign which has been paused on 10/17/2012 (find status change
in change history in web interface). When I tried to use
CustomerSyncService to check this, I got TOO_MANY_CHANGES. Even I checked
the date on 10/24/2012 which is after paused date, and I wrote code that
will auto update 1s time range(if failed with TOO_MANY_CHANGES, it will
move to earlier time range by 1s), all I got was TOO_MANY_CHANGES.

I also checked some other campaigns, same problem, this
makes CustomerSyncService useless.

I wonder why not allow us filter the data by status change only(like in
change history report in web interface).

Here's the log I got from API call:

I bumped to this problem too. How to do full account sync?

Thanks.

 Hi,

 As mentioned, I've started a dialog with the core engineering team to see
 if we can adjust the limits on the service to allow for cases like these.
  Do keep in mind though, that this service was designed to handle only
 smaller numbers of changes, and a TOO_MANY_CHANGES error indicates that you
 must do a full account sync to get all the updates.

Upgrading to v201206

2012-07-13 Thread Simon Day
Hi,

We have developed a number of custom VB functions to enable reporting on
and managing Adwords accounts. I'm trying to upgrade from v201109 to
v201206 but seem to be having issues straight away!

The first thing I need to do is list the client accounts under a given MCC
account. I can see the service I need to use has changed from
ServicedAccountService to ManagedCustomerService, so having updated to this
and swapped the 'Selector' to 'serviceSelector', and specified valid fields
but am getting the error [SelectorError.MISSING_FIELDS @ serviceSelector]
when posting to the production environment, and
InternalApiError.UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR when posting to the
sandbox.

My XML looks like this:
?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?
soap:Envelope xmlns:soap='http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/'
xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance'
xmlns:xsd='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema'
xmlns:cm='https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/cm/v201206'
xmlns:mcm='https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/mcm/v201206'
  soap:Header
mcm:RequestHeader
  cm:authTokenXXX/cm:authToken
  cm:applicationTokenYYY/cm:applicationToken
  cm:developerTokenZZZ/cm:developerToken
/mcm:RequestHeader
  /soap:Header
  soap:Body
get xmlns='https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/mcm/v201206'
  serviceSelector
fieldsName/fields
fieldsLogin/fields
fieldsCompanyName/fields
fieldsCustomerId/fields
fieldsCanManageClients/fields
fieldsCurrencyCode/fields
fieldsDateTimeZone/fields
  /serviceSelector
/get
  /soap:Body
/soap:Envelope

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks
Simon

 and I think they will see that their is a serious resource allocation issue
 here.

 Will let you know if I make any progress

Re: Adwords API pending approval, Can I use my developer Token?

2012-04-30 Thread Simon Bouchez
Hi Anash,

I have exactly the same problem. I have sent many emails to
adwordsapi-tok...@google.com as well as a full description of our product.
We made sure that we are compliant with Google's policy but it's been 2
months and there is no way to have an update on that matter.

This is critical for us (as it seems to be for many people on this forum).
Do you think you can help?

Many thanks,

Enabling a paused keyword

2012-02-23 Thread Simon Collingridge
Hi,

We've managed to create/pause/delete keywords, however when we try to
re-enable a paused keyword we can't seem to get it to work.

Is this possible? As I've not seen any documentation on it and can't find
any examples.

Re: keyword performance report shows incorrect/misleading campaign status

2012-02-22 Thread Simon Day
I'm having the same problem. From what I can see v13 excluded 'Ended'
campaigns but v201109 doesn't which is causing issues. Calling the
CampaignService is an option but not ideal, surely this should be
available on one of the reports.

Can I filter the servingStatus field in any reports?

2012-02-21 Thread Simon Day
Hi,

Migrating from v13 to the latest reports has thrown up another issue.

It looks like v13 reports exclude campaigns where the end date has
passed, or the 'servingStatus’ is 'ENDED'. I'm running the keyword
performance report, is there any way to do the same?

Thanks in advance

Re: How to cross-reference multiple reports?

2012-01-16 Thread Simon Day
Thanks for the reply Peter.

Looks like I'm doing it correctly then, however it does seem silly
there's no way to do it in a single report. All the SQL database
development is designed to reduce the number of calls made to the
database through joins, yet here it seems like the service is limited
to making lots of calls, and increasing load!

Cheers

How to cross-reference multiple reports?

2012-01-12 Thread Simon Day
Hi,

I'm in the process of migrating from v13 reports to v201109. The
specific report I'm trying to migrate is the Placement / Keyword
Performance Report. We use a number of fields that are no longer
available on this report:
DailyBudget and MaxContentCPC. I've been looking through the Report
Migration guide (https://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/
reportguide.html) and have found a few clues about how to get these
fields, but nothing more solid.

For MaxContentCPC the migration guide says to 'Use the
KeywordContentMaxCpc field of the AdGroup Performance Report.', but it
doesn't give any information about how to do this!

For Daily Budget it links to the 'Report Fields Normalization' section
of the guide, which suggests 'These kind of fields are still available
by cross-referencing multiple reports' but again, gives no information
about how to do it.

Surely someone will have come accross and resolved this issue but I'm
unable to find anything at the minute. Can anyone point me in the
right direction?

I'm passing a report definition that looks like this at the minute:
reportDefinition
  selector
fieldsAccountDescriptiveName/fields
fieldsCampaignId/fields
fieldsCampaignName/fields
fieldsId/fields
fieldsKeywordText/fields
  /selector
  reportNameCustom Keyword Performance Report/reportName
  reportTypeKEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT/reportType
  dateRangeTypeYESTERDAY/dateRangeType
  downloadFormatCSV/downloadFormat
/reportDefinition

I've removed some fields from the report to make it more readable. Any
suggestions will be greatfully received.

Thanks in advance,
Simon

Getting a list of Client Account CID's

2012-01-10 Thread Simon Day
Hi,

This is my first post here, but hopefully not my last.

I'm writing a series of Classic ASP pages to create a report that
mimics functionality from the v13 API which is being sunsetted
shortly. Because of the Classic ASP requirement I can't use any of the
Client Librarys so I'm having to do things manually

I have no issue creating the report, but I am having some issues
getting a list of Client Account CID's using the
ServicedAccountService. (as suggested in the Java code that makes use
of AdHoc reporting for multiple clients.)

https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/mcm/v201109/ServicedAccountService

Posting this :
?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?
soap:Envelope xmlns:soap='http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/'
xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance'

  soap:Body

Gives me this response:

From what I can see, this specific error
LoasAuthenticationError.ADS_USER_NOT_FOUND relates to an older
version of the API. Is there something obvious I'm missing here?

Still same problem today.

When using the v200909 API, there isn't any need to create a sandbox

With the account I'm using, I can log into google adwords production

As you can see below, I'm passing
clientEmail=client_1+production_account_id

As I understand it, a sandbox account then gets created automatically.

AdWords API Re: creating criterion, linking criteria to adgroup and campaign

2010-03-17 Thread Simon
 The purpose of the CampaignCriterion is to allow you to add negative
 keywords or placements to a campaign, as is available in the AdWords
 web interface.

Thanks for your reply, Eric. Unfortunately it isn't what I was looking
for. It's clear from the API that this adds a Criterion to a Campaign.
My question was: what *effect* does this have?

Here's my best *guess*:

Adding a CampaignCriterion (to associate a Criterion with a Campaign)
has the same effect as adding an AdGroupCriterion with the same
Criterion values for each AdGroup in the Campaign. Note, however, that
it is not possible to create AdParam objects for a CampaignCriterion;
if AdParams are needed then an AdGroupCriterion must be explicitly
used.

Have I got it right?

Thanks, Simon

AdWords API creating criterion, linking criteria to adgroup and campaign

2010-03-15 Thread Simon
Hi,

What service should be used to create a Keyword criterion object?

I want to dynamically create in the sandbox a set of AdGroup objects,
and associated AdGroupCriterion, Criterion and AdParam objects. There
are services for creating AdGroupCriterion and AdParam, but nothing
obvious for the Criterion that they reference.

I see that an AdParam has just a criterion *id* while AdGroupCriterion
has a criterion *object*. So if I do an ADD for an AdGroupCriterion,
is the child Criterion object created too? If so, is it possible to
ADD an AdGroupCriterion that links to a pre-existing criterion?

Could you also please explain the purpose of CampaignCriterion? I
presume that AdGroupCriterion specifies that a particular criterion
activates a specific AdGroup, ie when the user search matches the
criterion then the AdGroup becomes eligible for insertion into the
search-results page. But what does CampaignCriterion do?

Thanks, Simon

AdWords API Re: creating criterion, linking criteria to adgroup and campaign

2010-03-15 Thread Simon
Ok, I've figured out some answers.

Although the CampaignCriterion and AdGroupCriterion classes look
rather like they are building an N:N relation forcampaign-criterion
and adgroup-criterion respectively, they are not. Instead, a criterion
belongs to either a CampaignCriterion or AdGroupCriterion, and is
created when its owner is ADDed.

It is therefore not possible to link the *same* criterion object to
multiple AdGroup objects; a new one is created for each adgroup.

And an AdParam is really attached to an AdGroupCriterion; the
AdParam key is (groupid, criterionid) which is the same as the key
for an AdGroupCriterion.

I'd still appreciate some info on the purpose of CampaignCriterion

AdWords API Re: getting client information

2009-12-02 Thread Simon FEBVRE
This is what I did ! But I always have information about my principal
MCC

in ruby :
headers = {
  :email = 'MYEMAIL',
  :password = 'MYPASSWORD',
  :useragent = 'USERAGENT',
  :developerToken = 'XXX',
  :applicationToken = 'XXX',
}

namespace = 'https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/v13'
account_service = SOAP::WSDLDriverFactory.new(namespace + '/
AccountService?wsdl').create_rpc_driver
account_service.generate_explicit_type = true
account_service.wiredump_dev = nil

headers.each do |header, value|
  account_service.headerhandler  Header.new(header, value)
end

clientsInfos.each do |cl|
headers[:clientEmail] = cl['emailAddress'].to_s

  info =  account_service.getAccountInfo(nil).getAccountInfoReturn
  puts info.inspect
end

Am I wrong?

AdWords API service unavailable

2009-09-14 Thread Simon FEBVRE

Hi,

Since this morning, I'm trying to get a report via the API and I've
got this error :
Waiting for report to become available for download...
/Library/Ruby/Gems/1.8/gems/soap4r-1.5.8/lib/soap/streamHandler.rb:
268:in `send_post': 503: Service Unavailable (SOAP::HTTPStreamError)

Is something wrong with the maintenance ?

I downloaded some reports last week this is why I know my code is ok.

Thanks
