You can enable a Recycling Bin for Synology on a volume and limit access to just the administrator. That way, a deleted file/folder can be restored by only the admin. (I don't know how this plays with their replication stuff.) If you need versioning, I think that's a setting with their backup

The 7 blade and 4 flat are the most common from my experience. Usually you have the 7 blade on larger trailers and rvs with things like electric brakes and constant battery power. The 4 flat is popular for small trailers with just marker and turn signals. Any trailer I own is going to have one

There are 3 different flavors of the 7-pin connector. Most trailers use what is sometimes referred to as 7-pin common. The flat 4-pin will not accommodate a trailer brake controller. You need at least a 5-pin to do the trailer brakes.

Personally, I think customers like speaking to a live person. Even if they are just taking a message. If they have to leave a voicemail, it feels like the company doesn't care. If the person answering the phone just says, someone will get back to you Monday morning, I think it's better than them
