The size of the sector isn't as bad as I thought it would be, it's smaller than the UBNT 900mhz sector we have on one of our towers. WAV had them in stock last week, and I know at least one other distributor had them as well... whether or not anyone has any left now, I don't know. But I have one

I suspect you actually need the foliage to scatter more signal your way, especially if there is something more than just the trees blocking the path. Also, in the very rare circumstances I have shot 5 GHz through trees, I have noticed that it is affected by wind blowing the branches around.
