Snow actually causes two different issues typically than fade thru Free Space.

I wouldn't say it's a waste at this distance. You want it as good as you can
get it to be in order to limit the rain fade. I had really bad rain fade on my
link at 3 miles until I turned the dials 1/16th turn. Now it's pretty mild.

Is there a good link estimation utility for the Airfiber 24 HD?
I like the UBNT online link calculator, but it doesn't work with 24Ghz?
This is the link I just put up, shouldn't the chains all be about equal dB?
What does it mean when the second chain is so much different from the first on
Just a basic pathloss would probably be best.
Chain difference means NLOS issue or path issue. Assuming it isn't
broken...

My experience with the AF24 is that a huge difference between chains is a
misalignment. The tiniest of adjustments can fix that. But I haven't done many
more than you.

I've found those small discrepancies to be normal in most cases and
trying to get everything absolutely perfect by playing with alignment
for an hour or two is a waste of time.

No. We had a heavy rain in Phoenix on a 2.5 mile link. Lost the link for
about 15 minutes but this was a torrential rain, not normal for our area. We
are reducing that to 2.0 miles to minimize it.
