I never attach it to very top of leg. It goes in between where the Z cross
bars give it support. Model 25g sections are not heavy enough to crush
legs if you hoist nice and slow. The pole is as high as it can go on
attachment. We use two to three ropes depending on height and breeze

I agree with the point of not putting it up that high. I just wanted to
share that the legs are not designed to take a side load like that.

I just want to put this out there about using that kind of gin pole. I had
one collapse a leg. We were stacking 20G Rohn. The bottom of the pole was
put on the top portion of the section. There was no cross bracing attached
to that 10 of section. The bang, slam, etc. of that on that day, made
These two towers did not require a crane. Accidents can and do happen
regardless. ..you have to always keep that first and foremost

I think we have that exact same gin pole.Do you always run/rig it
that high? It seems like I have had better luck keeping the gin pole
about 7' over the last section and lifting the next section at about 2/3
height, but I have not stacked anywhere near as much tower.

Ha. Guiding it to avoid getting reamed by air terminal. Pulley on top
and pulley at 4 ft on tower base makes it easy to hoist

I was stacking Trylon STG, it's a bit much for that gin pole. At
130lb/section it's not something you carry up by hand :-)
