If you're going to use a Linux server, I'd just use MikroTik. It's probably doable with iptables, but there's not much to be gained vs just using a CCR. On Jan 1, 2017 5:27 PM, "Dev" wrote: > Don’t care about support really. On the MX80 do they nickel and dime you > to

Don’t care about support really. On the MX80 do they nickel and dime you to death with licenses, disabled featured etc., or can you just pick one up and it has all the stuff enabled (unlike Cisco I’m finding)? I’m going to look on my Cisco to see if CGN is available. Is there any reason I can

Not sure why you would pay 10-15k for a used MX80 when you get get a brand new MX104 (still PPC based RE so not a *super* powerful box either) for the same price. On Sat, Dec 31, 2016 at 11:28 AM, Josh Reynolds wrote: > /offtopic > > There's been some pretty compelling

/offtopic There's been some pretty compelling arguments made for awhile now against "needing" huge bgp tables, especially when there's only around 300 destinations used on a daily basis. On Dec 31, 2016 8:00 AM, "Paul Stewart" wrote: > Sure . that’s absolutely true… > >

Sure - there are lots of options ….. Juniper MX line is personal favourite and one that we use for all of those functions (except CGNAT as we don’t do it currently, but the box can do it for sure). “reasonably priced core router” means a lot of different things though :) For some folks this

I’m looking for reasonably priced core router that will do Carrier Grade NAT, MPLS, OSPF and BGP. I know Mikrotik will handle dancing unicorns, fairy dust and perpetual motion all for $100, but is there anything like a Juniper, Cisco, etc. that’s a more traditional thing people trust for core
