That's a good one.. My favorite was back in 70's when I studied Latin.
Puto means "I think"... (i. e. Putative, compute, etc.) but in Spanish it
is a derogatory slang word for male whore... gay or straight... It's a
fighting word when told from man to man.

My kids said thanks for some candy.
I said “no hay de que” and my kids heard “No, IDK”
They looked confused. Then I added “No tooth decay either”.
Took a while to sort that one out.
