I believe the problem is that you need to point CDEx to the external
CD drive as you're no longer using the internal CD drive.

hmm. I have both an Echo Dot 2nd gen and a Google Home Mini and
neither one ssounds as bad or quiet as the ones in the Youtube video.
In fact I use a Google Home mini in my bedroom to listen to music when
I'm in the shower and if the volume was that low I would never be able
to hear it over the
thereafter as I didn't like it but if you
want strictly an Android MP3 player that's the accessible one I know
about.
