Here is an alternative set of replication steps: Steps 1. Start Impress with Empty presentation. 2. Add slides to the slides pane (left side) in order have scrollbar visible so there is no possibility to see 1st and last slides on the same view. 3. Select 1st slide. 4. Scroll down to the end of the slides pane and select last slide with pressed CTRL key (both slides should be selected) 5. Copy selected slides by using CTRL+C shortcut or by clicking Copy from Edit menu. The selection view jumps after copying the slides from the view of the last selected slide to the view of the 1st selected slide. This behavior is inconsistent with the way that MO PowerPoint and Windows Folders handle similar steps. In both cases the selection never changes under same circumstances. This above behavior is also inconsistent with the Impress itself. When the scrollbar in step 4 is moved (in either way) after selection of the last slide and if then we copy the slides the view is of selection is not jumping. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 45966] Effects can't be previewed at other speeds from the Custom Animation dialog
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=45966 --- Additional comments from g...@openoffice.org Sat Feb 19 20:52:55 + 2011 --- Potential new info for this bug: Notes about the dialog: - It is not possible to trigger a preview by pressing Enter or Tab after selecting new speed - It is not possible to trigger a preview by un-checking and then re-checking the Automatic preview check box - The only way it seems possible to trigger a preview is by selecting the same animation again, but that will reset the speed to default setting Notes about the task pane: - Changing the speed in the task pane will trigger a new preview, with the selected speed, so it seems the issue is limited to the dialog. Notes about PowerPoint and Keynote: I had a quick look at how this is handled in both PowerPoint and Keynote. In PowerPoint (2003 and 2007) there is no Custom Animation dialog. All settings are done directly in the task pane, including selecting the type of animation. Keynote does have a dialog for the animation, but no option for Automatic preview the preview must be triggered manually by clicking on an icon. When triggered, the preview is shown with the selected speed. Comparing with PowerPoint, which has the most similar way to handle this, the whole Custom Animation dialog could potentially be skipped if selecting animation type could be done directly in the task pane. It is at least a potential alternative to fixing this issue. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 116694] New printer dialog ignores printer margins when printing slides
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=116694 --- Additional comments from iel...@openoffice.org Sat Feb 19 21:34:02 + 2011 --- I replicated this behavior on a Windows7 machine printing to an HP Color LaserJet CP2020 Series PCL6, using OOo-dev 3.4.0 DEV300m100 (Build:9571) and comparing it to results obtained printing the same document from OOO320m18 (Build:9502). I created and used sample file ooTestSlide.odp to perform these tests, which has pictures in both bottom corners; file is attached to this bug. In both versions, I followed these steps: 0. Uninstall any previously-installed version of Open Office. 1. Install the correct version of Open Office. 2. Launch the newly-installed Open Office, no registration information submitted. 3. Open the test slide file. 4. Select Print... from the File Menu. 5. Select my Printer. 6. Print. No image trimming was evident on-screen; the trimming effect only appeared on paper. Also attached is a scan of the printouts, laid out overlapping, so that you can see the difference. The easiest to distinguish is the lower-lefthand image of the lighthouse, where you can see that the full image has a door inset on a short wall on the extreme left; in the printout via the DEV snapshot, this shortwall and its door do not appear. In the lower-righthand corner, the koala's ear can also be seen to be cut off, but it's a bit harder to distinguish this difference at first glance. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It might not be easy, however it is still possible. There are 2 situations that I think we should consider: 1- One problem that a user might face, is the not saved work. He will be depending on the recovery process which might not go OK for any reason. 2- Also in presentation time, when the presenter for any reason decides to hide the Custom Slide show slides and just work with other slides, If he forgets to uncheck the Use Custom Slide Show check box, the program will terminate - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 115222] Footer formating in PPT-files
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=115222 --- Additional comments from bahug...@openoffice.org Sun Feb 20 04:55:10 + 2011 --- Version OOo-dev-3.4.0 DEV300m99 (Build:9570) I am building on rajagopalsow's additional comments. I was not able to duplicate the results running MS PowerPoint 2003on WinXP SP3. 1. Create a new Powerpoint presentation. 2. Add footer to the slide, with new footer text (e.g.” Footer” in footer text tab in the dialog box). EDIT - bahughes: You need to go to View Header and Footer to add Footer text. EDIT: bahughes - 19/02/2011 * Step 3 cannot be accomplished without going into the Slide Master View by navigating through View Master Slide Master * 3. Realign the footer by clicking on the footer and dragging it when a four headed arrow appears on top of the footer. Drag it to the bottom left corner. 4. Save the Powerpoint presentation with .ppt extention. 5. Now open the saved Powerpoint presentation with OpenOffice Impress. 6. OpenOffice Impress maintained the Master Slide formatting from Powerpoint and the Impress slide displays the footer on the lower left just as on Powerpoint. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I was thinking that this was an issue with maintaining the position of the footer from .ppt to .odp. On further testing I was able to get similar results to Simon's. I adjusted the font size of the footer to Arial 8 in the Powerpoint Master Slide view. 1. Saved the file as a .ppt. 2. Opened the file in Impress. 3. Noted that it opened as Read Only and the footer font was displayed at the default Impress font size (18pt). 4. I tried to change the footer font size in the read only version but the options were disabled. 5. I saved the file as an ODF Presentation (.odp) 6. I was then able to change the footer font size by right clicking the footer in the Master Slide view and selecting Size. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
