To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=113048 --- Additional comments from npo...@openoffice.org Thu Aug 12 08:20:15 + 2010 --- So, question is, do we really need to add a fix that has vanished in newer Excel versions? Works at least in MSO2003, I don't have MSO2007 to test with, regardless I don't think most customers are on MSO2007, I would say mostly they are on earlier versions and want to move to openoffice ( and expect the best fidelity possible ) Mostly I would agree supporting stuff that no longer works in later versions is a good idea but in this case the bug is serious enough ( it breaks macro bindings for controls ) that going the extra mile is worth it ( btw I have come across this 3 separate times from different customer documents ) Up to you if you want to reject the patch - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. In that case the names seems to be overridden by attributes specific in the module preamble ( e.g. the section containing the attributes ) Probably this is the specific codename which *can* apparently be different from the control name of a shape/control object ( note: I *never* succeeded in making the control name / code name different from each other ) sorry no test document either ( confidential ) ... although I think it may be possible to get rid of any sensitive data in this case ( at least I will try ) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Huh? are you kidding? the macro is generated ( via the macro recorder ) I can't recall if indeed there was something obvious like no information passed via the generated macro about the selected sheets etc. BUT if so the problem surely is in the framework/sc code. OTOH if I had my way the macro recorder would be just removed as it causes more problems then it ever solves - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The implementation is of course wrong ( but worked pretty reliably until I noticed today ) The 'windowResized' 'borderWidthsChanged' events should ideally just indicate we are 'in' a resize operation, a mouse release should actually trigger detection that a resize has occurred ( and fire the handler ). However iirc it was not possible to catch the mouse events ( I guess they are consumed elsewhere ( probably by the tabview ) ) It would be nice in future to fix that ( and remove the Application::PostUserEvent ) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I think I have to disagree a little here ( but only in the implementation ) I think in the case where you do get a String back ITypeInfo::GetDocumentation ( and no VARDESC or FUNCDESC available ) we should just propagate the error from the initialize method ( I don't think it is necessary to involve the XDefaultxxx facet in this at all ) is that ok for you? if so (please let me know) I will regenerate the patch based on the f/b ( but give me a day or so as I am a little busy ) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=111097 --- Additional comments from npo...@openoffice.org Fri Apr 23 17:15:00 + 2010 --- the problem is basically that the parser now take the modules vba mode, the option vbasupport thingy can change the module's mode, however if you don't specify the option vbasupport thingy then the previous mode remains in place. solution is to use the document's library container vba mode as the default ( if you make any changes to the source ) In otherwords if you don't specify 'Option VBASupport 0|1' the default mode will be VBA ( in a imported document ) and Non-VBA in an odf document. In either case the default can be overridden by use of Option VBSupport Andreas, have a look at the patch, try it out, if your happy I'll commit it - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 110821] extensions: automation br idge/ooo-basic doesn't understand com default method
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=110821 Issue #|110821 Summary|extensions: automation bridge/ooo-basic doesn't unders |tand com default method Component|framework Version|DEV300m76 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|All Status|NEW Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|PATCH Priority|P3 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|ab Reported by|npower --- Additional comments from npo...@openoffice.org Mon Apr 12 17:23:22 + 2010 --- COM objects can have default members, those members can be properties or methods, already for vba support in basic we have a concept of default members default properties ( exposed via XDefaultMethod XDefaultProperty ) this loosely maps to the COM concept of default members ( note: we have a default method to fake use of properties that take parameters which of course is an alien concept for uno ) The automation bridge though cannot tell basic about these default members, the (tobe attached) patch exposes the missing information about the default member to basic. This allow constructs like Sheets(1).Cells(L, 1) = rs.Fields(PartNo#) to work. In the example line above rs is a ADODB.Recordset object ( returned from the automation bridge ) Fields(PartNo#) calls a default member called 'Item' ( the collection iterator method ) with the index PartNo# this returns a 'Field' object which has a default 'property' value which is assigned to the Range returned from Sheets(1).Cells(L, 1) - I will attach a sample document containing the above example. Naturally when running on windows ( without the patch ) the test document fails miserably, with the patch you should get a message box telling you looped 9 times and the cells A1:B9 should contain values like those below A | B = 20090324 073237 | M0103A 20090324 033719 | M0104A 20090324 033733 | M0104A 20090324 033740 | M0104A 20090324 033757 | M0104A 20090324 033757 | M0104A 20090324 033757 | M0104A 20090324 033803 | M0104A 20090324 033810 | M0104A - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [script-issues] [Issue 103859] Error with automation bri dge and vba set with strongly typed variables

Is the content of the file of any importance? The instruction was just to create a dummy file. well I did say create a dummy spreadsheet ;-) but hmm yes, actually I don't know if a spreadsheet created by openoffice will work or not, let me check ( need to reinstall office etc. ) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I mean I hope it's not just some random text file with a '.xls' extension ( iiwy I would create that result.xls from excel to be sure it is in the proper format e.g. no idea if a blank xls created from openoffice would work ) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [...] i really would like to have this information presented to the user instead of the script URI...). I understand that, and.. unfortunately it does look like something introduced in this cws ( I would imagine it would also be *simple* ) to fix, if so I would suggest we commit the fix to this cws. If not I would suggest creating a new bug for that ( I don't think it is that serious an issue ) With VBA executable code turned on i end up with a runtime exception in the line that begins with con=... - see attached screenshot. as mentioned on IRC I don't understand the error ( german ) so it's not clear whether this is a problem with the patch or with some missing com object or something the test document tries to access ( I remain suspicous of the patch until I know better ) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. You can recreate the same error by making a macro binding for a button and afterwards delete the macro. Anyway in imo this is no big problem - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I appreciate that :-) the changes here are potentially 'invasive' and I do claim to be nervous of them, so... some sort of reviewing of the changes ( in toolkit for sure ) would be very very welcome. But like I said in a recent mail to the api dev list I understand people are very busy regarding getting the time to get feedback I await feedback from upstream in order to progress things, so when it will be integrated is uncertain ( and currently most people are busy with feature freeze etc ) I include myself in that statement because currently I don't even know if I have the time to respond to any feedback :-)) ( but hopefully things will calm done in the next week or 2 ) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
