Means: OOo will not change default shortcuts because of this. Alternatives: Don't use GTK-input method (then you won't be able to use the ctrl+shift+u method though) Reconfigure the shortcut for underline in OOo via Tools|Configure → Keyboard changing OOo defaults would break consistency with bold and italic shortcuts and consistency with other operating systems. You will never be able to have shortcuts that don't conflict with the defaults of your Desktop-Environment. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. That is proof that the defaults are brain-damaged and should not be what they currently are. Perhaps the idea of uniform shortcuts across all system types is not feasible at all. Do the shortcuts not work properly on Windows either... or are you basically saying we found what works on Windows so who cares about anything else including Gnome which is the defacto Desktop for Linux and most *nix for that matter. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Reopening this issue will not help. Feel free to patch your distro's version, feel free to take this to the appropriate mailinglist. Until then: Live with it. Wontfix. The comment is proof that no matter what shorcuts you choose, there will always be one that are already used by some other tool. There's nothing to be done about it. And yes, there might be a free combo, but sacrifying consistency (i.e. using ctrl+shift+k for underline instead) for that is no option. Take it to the mailinglist, with some well-grounded arguments or live with the conflict/change it locally. You should use styles instead of hard formatting anyway. Leaving this issue open won't help. It will sit there forever, without any change. So wontfix is what it is: Will not be fixed. A honest answer, whether you like it or not. To have a chance to change the shortcuts I can only repeat myself: Bring it to the mailinglists with some good argumentation. Otherwise you're wasting your time. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The german localization was the one I received the Ubuntu bug report about though. I don't know what other locales use the same hotkey. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
