depends on the access format: interleaved or non-interleaved. it also
depends on whether you are using read/write access or mmap-based
access.

period/buffer size limits, but this corrects them. this previously
prevented applications from requesting a period size of 8192

for standard USB MIDI devices. Midisport devices are affected only if using
Lars Doelle firmware.

of the SiS 645DX chipset (motherboard is Gigabyte GA-8ST667).
I've had success getting audio to work using the intel8x0 modules.
However I can't seem to get the midi port to work. It is enabled in BIOS
