Hi,
I was very excited and pleased to see hdsp driver had reached cvs (thank you
Paul !) , so I gave it a try. Here are the results.
I manage to insmod everything needed except the snd-hdsp module. I get the
following in syslog:

CONFIG_RTC is still missing. The patch below fakes it.
Additionally, I've modified the initialization of rtcsup.
(but I think it that line wasn't use
Hello All,
At the risk of sounding stupid, i'd like to ask some doubts to the
group.
To develop a driver for a audio codec is the codec & controller
data sheet alone sufficient or is any other programming manuals
used ?
Any pointers suggested to learn more about Audio driver
development ?
Hello,
I have a CS4281 based card with a CS4297A AC'97 codec, and wanted
to use the IEC958 jack. After reading some of the specs, I realized
that the function "patch_cirrus_cs4205()" in ac97_codec.c applies to
the CS4297A codec as well. I changed the line in the snd_ac97_codec_ids
array that

I would like to ask for advices about how to setup

at the same time (ALSA).
Pavel

Paul, here are the results of the commands you asked.
One strange thing with my particular laptop is that IRQ 10 seems widely
shared.

Without the card lspci -vv gives:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp.: Unknown device 3575 (rev 02)
Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unkn

that's usually due to ACPI .. I've seen this all over the place, but it
generally doesn't seem to cause

Hi,
I bought this Creative Labs Ensoniq AudioPCI card about a year ago, and couldn't
get it to work
with Linux back then (ALSA or OSS/Free). I just decided to pop it in and try it out
in Windows first,
then Linux using the latest alsa-driver-0.9.0rc1. I AM ECSTATIC. IT WORKS! :)
