RH 8.0. I have tried using ALSA both with tarballs from the site and
the RPM packages from www.freshrpms.net - both to the same effect. ALSA

I am not able to produce PCM sound. I can get CD and line to play but
not PCM based sound, even when I turn all mixer controls to full
volume. There are times when I can capture line in and microphone. I
believe the cause of my problem is related to ALSA not polling the
cards capabilities correctl

I am facing problems while installing the alsa drivers downloaded from the site freshrpms.net. I am having a Yamaha sound card (OPL3 -SAx card).

connecting cdrom and soundcard in it. This is needed if your CDROM should do
the DA conversion (CDROM acting as audio CD player).
