I want to use arecord to record the sound by another programme, eg. mplayer
using alsa as output device.
I wonder if this works at all. Should it?

spacebar and up and down to turn one of the capture volumes on and up,
and set the capture source using up and down over on the right where

Rear mic works fine, front mic doesn't work when used as a capture device. It
works if I turn up the playback control for the mic (that is, I can hear myself
talking), but if I use it as a capture device, it doesn't work.
