Hi,
By appearances, everything appears to be ok with my setup with a new
Delta 66, I'm just not getting any sound out :-(
With Hydrogen -> jack -> envy24control the level meters in
envy24control (0.6)are bouncing merrily.
I've seen mention of routing in envy24control, but trial & error there

I am looking to do multi-tracking on UbuntuStudio with Ardour and have a

Don't answer this... I'll just use a pair of inputs for the audio out on
the patchbay.

Okay,
Now that I have pretty much decided to give up the ghost on the intel8x0
as a hardware patchbay seems to be a better option, (and I think the

Hello -
My Delta/66 has four outs - currently I'm using the first two as the
usual left/right channels.
Would it be possible to run another audio program and send the output to
the other two channels, at the same time another program is using the
first two?
How would I do this using ALSA?

I wouldn't. I have one and it's worked well with most of the alsa 0.9 versions
I've tried.
I'd suggest reading this page in the ALSA Wiki but
it seems to only give you the index at the mo

First a big thank you to all of the folks that responded to my
cry for help :)
I have bookmarked all the great sites you folks have
suggested looking at and there is certainly some great
information there.
To solve the problem I went back to the basics and set

hi fish, there was a lot of talk about these issues recently
(mid-september?)
on ardour-dev (and moving over to ardour-users eventually).
some comments from what I remember are below...

I have a Delta 66 in an Abit BH6 board that gets ticks and
pops when playing mp3's and doing anything video like
dragging a window around or even selecting a message in

may cause a tick or pop or stutter.

Yes I did get that message and have tried both the alsa mixer and the Envy
control mixer to unmute and raise the gain on all my channels.
They are unmuted and at full gain, including the master,
It seems I am getting an error message with aplay that states:
"Cant set Channel Parms"..

During installation, you should have gotten a message that
ALSA drivers are muted by default. Did you check that?
Try installing envy24control from the alsa-tools package,

Hi,
I have been trying for a while to get a Midiman Delta 66 to work with the
alsa drivers.
I have tried various distributions all with the same results, the card loads
and looks fine (I think!) but I get no sound.
Currently I am using Mandrake 8.2 with the version of alsa that comes with

Hi
Thanks for that .. the ardour.rc example file for .asoundrc talks about
MIDI assignments and looks a little different from this.. I knwo the

Hi
I've been scouring my ML archives for info about how to set up the
.asoundrc file. Specifically for a system with a Delta 66 and SBPCI 128

This is for use with ardour
I can't seem to ascertain from the emails, or provided documentation
exactly how to configure this file.

Dear all,
I wrote a small howto for using the Midiman Delta 66 with
the Alsa driver. Its just a start, but maybe you find it
useful. If you are interested, look at

Any comments are welcome.
