Yes, other stuff works. I can listen to Flash 10 plugin sound, Kaffeine,
KDE system sound etc. Maybe just a Skype issue?

That's exactly the the same hardware interface (and driver), so I'd

I tested the 8768 for another poster regarding skype. It worked for me with
Suse 11.1 64bit OS.. The card is a Diamond XS71. About $30.
I run multiple copies of this card in the box for other software. It seems to
be very compatible with linux software.
