Hello,
thanks for the bad news ;-).
O.K. I brought me yesterday an external hardware-sequencer (QY100). What
would you say: "Is it possible to send/receive some MIDI-Files from/to my
Sound Card to the Sequencer".
Both, my Sound Card and the Sequencer are supporting that feature.
Where can I
Hi Matt-
I have this same setup with Mandrake.
As has been said on other lists, you need to make sure
that the driver is being loaded early in your boot
cycle (with a modprobe in /etc/rc.d/rc.modules or as
an entry in /etc/modules.conf...there are many ways to
do this). The snd-hammerfall-mem m
Hi,
I have been converting cassette tape tracks to .wav files using 'arecord'
(so I can transfer them to CD).
I have Alsa-0.5.12a and an sblive emu10k1 card.
I find that the resulting .wav files will only play back through one
speaker, using aplay.
I am sure the connections are ok 'cos I hear
I have a Hammerfall DSP w/ Multiface, and i could not make it work.
After doing the installation as described,with driver v 0.9.0, i did :

Then on the screen :

Hi,
it might be a problem that the soundmodule isn't loaded. Look for that
with lsmod.
I had a similar problem with alsa and a SB16. The install menu shows the
following lines to add to your /etc/modutils/aliases (Debian):
# ALSA portion
alias char-major-116 snd

Hi,
it might be the problem, that the module are not loaded. I had a
similiar problem with s SB16. Look for the loaded modules (with lsmod).
I think that the install manual fails in one point:
# ALSA portion
alias char-major-116 snd
alias snd-card-0 snd-ens1371
On the SB Live problems: recorded signal levels differs from MS Windows
driver, and the capture faders of alsamixer seems to do nothing.
I posted this to alsa-user as well if there are people who has
the SB Live card. Please join us for testing.
If I start to understand how the SB Live driver wor
Hi.
It could be many things, but the first question is
have u compiled/installed ./snddevices
when u were in alsa-drive dir?
If not and if it still no work let me know.

I've had a hard time getting that to work too, but I just found out that
mplayer can do it when I play a DVD (my DVD drive is connected to CPDIF-in
of SBLive), when I tell it to use alsa9 and AC3. I'm still trying to
figure out what exactly it does, but here's one line of possible interest

Hello,
I have installed alsa 0.9rc3 on my system with a Creative SBLive. I can
manage to get either the digital or analogue out working (by specifying
module params). I have noticed that the CD internal input does not get
routed through the digital out. I have a TV tuner card, and in order
Hi,
I changed successfully the ALS100 with a Soundblaster16 Vibra (CT2960),
a ISA one.
Then I tried again to record and play at the same time, and it works (IMHO).
How can i check if it's recording with 16 bits?

Sven

MIDI data will be output to the external MIDI port.
The wavetable synthesizer on the CS46xx isn't supported.
