I was wondering how much support is currently in alsa for the ALC889a.
I have two problems that I am trying to get to the bottom of.
1. I can't seem to control the CD-in capture. I have 3 capture
sliders, all named 'Capture', but when recording I get nothing from
the CD input.

I've got an older PPC-based Mac Mini. No one was using it so after
sitting for a year unpowered I blew away OS X and put Gentoo on it.

I would try to comment out the alias above. As far as I know, you need
either snd-powermac or snd-aoa..., not both.

Interesting that in this case no one has opened snd_atiixp. I
