I am happy to report good success getting amanda-2.4.2p2 working with my
OnStream DI-30 using the ide-scsi module and firmware update to 1.09.
I can make dumps and read them. I can restore with
amrestore. But I can't get amrecover to work for me. Surely
What would happen IF ...
Situation:
I do 6 dumps a week, changing a 6 tape cartridge each weekend.
When I forget to change it, I change the cartridge on Monday
and amflush so everything is ok. Weeks and tapes are in sync.
Last night I realized I had forgotten to change cartridges
when the dump
I'm trying to get amanda to back up a few systems to a HP DAT 6-tape changer.
I've got the changer set up properly, and I think that amanda is configured
properly, but when I try to perform any amanda operations, it fails.
For example, here's the output of running amcheck:

Exact same problem here. If I restore manually (dd, tar) everything works
fine, but not with amrecover.
However, when the file I want to restore is in the *first* file on tape
amrecover works ok. And yes, I *am* using the non-rewinding device.
Any clues?
