Amanda used to work very fine between the backup server (gentoo/ Amanda
installed through emerge amanda), and my personal pc (ubuntu/ Amanda
installed through apt-get install amanda-client).
Now we have moved the backup server to a different network

I am getting the infamous amcheck "selfcheck request timed out" problem.
I am attepting to backup the server (hostname is redrox , running RH 6.2
Linux) that amanda is installed on. I have read the FAQ on this problem
and have checked out everything suggested.
This is what my /etc/
This is what my /etc/inetd.conf looks like:
amandadgram udp wait amanda /usr/local/libexec amandad
This should be:
amandadgram udp wait amanda /usr/local/libexec/amandad amandad

This is what my /etc/inetd.conf looks like:
amandadgram udp wait amanda /usr/local/libexec amandad
This is incorrect. The second last argument is a full path to your server
program, not just the directory. It should be /usr/local/libexec/amandad.

After installing and using Amanda without any problems not solvable
by some RTFM'ing, I'm now stuck. My server is a recently upgraded
Solaris box running 2.4.2. All my working clients are also Solaris
but running the 2.4.1p1 version.
