again: amanda version 2.4.2 and NT

2001-01-08 Thread Alexander von Homeyer
Because I didn't get an answer I post my question again: Since now we have installed Amanda 2.4.1p1 which doesn't support exclude lists in Samba backups. Because I thought the current version 2.4.2 does we've downloaded it. But after reading the docs I coudn't find any hint in there. Just to be

Thanks for the tip. Yep, it does say something - guess I missed it the first time: amflush: Could not rmdir /usr/local/etc/amanda/dumps/20001229. Check for cruft. What is 'cruft'? I'm a Linux newbie by the way if you haven't guessed. P.S. My Outlook is set for plain text. I

I've run amanda for some time and just upgraded the server to 2.4.2 (I've left the clients at 2.4.1p1; is there any harm in leaving them there?). The server is an Ultra 150 running solaris 2.6. I have a DLT 4700 7 tape stacker, and I use stc-changer to change tapes (which seems to be working

does version 2.4.2 support file exclusion on NT clients? Based on reading the code (not first hand experience), it supports "exclude FILENAME" to omit a single file. It does not support the more general "exclude list EXCLUDEFILE". As Joi pointed out, this is a limit of smbclient, not Amanda.

I put some time into this and I thought I would share. It took some script hacking and I'll be the first to admit that it could use some tweaking but here are the modifications for chg-zd-mtx, to work with mtx-1.2.10, solaris 8, and a L280 tape changer, amanda-2.4.2. I put some sleep commands

Hello Robert, Joe Rhett already sent an updated chg-zd-mtx script. Did you try it? Could you try it? I'm waiting is patch of chg-zd-mtx.sh.in to include it in the next release of amanda. Could you work with him so that we have a patch that work for everyone? Thanks. Jean-Louis On Mon, Jan
