Hi, All I have setup Amanda, it works great for the Amanda server itself but
fails to backup any clients.
Server:
Ubuntu 18.04
Amanda 3.5.1 ( ubuntu repo pkg )
Client
Ubuntu 16.04
Amanda 3.3.6
Immediately after starting the backup this is the state of the procs on the
client
backup 30608
All,
I also tried this on an 18.04 client wit 3.5.1 amanda client and I get the same
result defunct process and no backup. I am at a loss as what could be causing
this I have spent many hours debugging. Any thoughts ?

Jens, I am using the included packages was trying to quickly POC Amanda for our

Whats happening when you try to backup sing
All, Is there a way to run the backup manually to see whats happening on the
client outside of running strace on amdump ?

I am using amvault to copy from disk to tape it works great The one
problem I see it does not record the label and barcode like it does if
it was a backup. I am using the chg-zd-mtx script
Any thoughts ?
