I'll need to read this over and over again.
I wish that Amavisd's documentation was a little better.
It's really sad that such a GREAT software has very cryptic
documentation, that hinders me from using it to its fullest.

Hello,
I installed amavisd and I'm using Postfix but since I am using the
proxy_filter for amavisd, I can't use the REDIRECT keyword in
/etc/postfix/relay_recipients.
I get the following error message:

Thanks Mark.
However, when a message is sent about a virus/spam, I can see why I
would specify who's the message from (notify_admin?), and who's the
Admin that should also get notified that there's spam/virus

I can't seem to understand why I would specify the recipient (notify

Apart from an issue when using IPv6 for communicating with a

Well as the text where the error occurs says, you should upgrade your
MIME::Base64 Module, otherwise some of the test will fail.

Thanks for the fast response. I actually saw that and did as it said and it
worked fine. I was about to post my appology for the noise when you beat me

Hello,

What is your problem? One test goes wrong because MIME::Base64 is too old,
but this seems too obvious.

Does anyone know how I would go about having the amavis.log file gzipped
each night ? I just came in to find that the postfix mail server had no
disk space left and mails were being dumped due to the amavis log file
being about 1.5gb.

Hi Gary,
Yes, I tried the new 2.72 on a Red Hat 9.0 machine with hopes that
Vupil was aware of the problem and had fixed it, but it still
Segfaulted.
It also segfaults with SuSE and gentoo, but at different points. I can not
figure out why its different.
