W5OMR (Bigfoot) has been running 75M.A.M. mobile for years
down here in TX.
Sent me some pics of his present mobile rig, a Johnson
Viking II hooked to a honkin' inverter in his Ford F150
truck.
Goeff is a hotshot driver, so most of his radio time
is mobile.
I listen for him
Brian,
If you're space or hieght limited, put up a full-wave 80 Meter
Loop(65 to 70 feet on each leg if square), and feed with window
line(one inch Twinlead) or open wire(ladder -line).Mine's up 33'.
Loads up fine with my MFJ tuner on all bands from 80 up through
6 meters. This is
John,
How much for the kit?

Talk with Jim (WD5JKO), I think he has used a
Crown P.A. amplifier as a cathode modulator,
maybe an SB-200 as the final?
Unless you're stuck with 13.8 VDC, I would
look for something in the commercial P.A.
type amps.(Guitar Center,Musician's Friend,
pawn shops,etc.)

Don't know enough about the 5000's receiver, but a couple years
ago, I talked with W5GI on 3.880 as he was shaking out the prototype.
None the old buzzards, nor I, could tell it from a plate-modulated

I agree with Steve, seems they are trying to squeeze
us into special segments, such as the 30 Kc. segment
Kay mentioned, only 5 Kc. of which are in the U.S. fone
band!
Great comment, and reply.

Larry,
The 80 RPM records were made for the Edison players, which
used a real diamond stylus. They are ruined by playing on
a Victor or other player with a steel needle.
One of my Edison records was recorded by Thomas himself,

And I thought the old Wilcox amp I have,
pair of 813's, was overkill!
Are they going to run up the price of the

Who winds the output transformers?
This looks like fun, aside from homebrew
AM rigs, I also homebrew guitar amps. HI
Went down and encouraged them, they listen
to 3880 and 3890, and were tuning up the

Told them riceboxes are welcome(some of
them are hard to tell from plate-modulated

Mike and Don,
I am a relay and N.C.S. in the Pacific Maritime Mobile

Being there nearly daily for eight years, I have found
the band open most days, but prop. can be very spotty.

Search for instrument speakers as found in guitar,

Just got off the ARRL website, the band from 145.500 to

Seem AM would fit in here? Hmm, a pair of 6146's mod.

Mike,
Will do! I've been working 3's,4's,and ,8's in the mornings,
then 7's and 6's in the afternoon on 50 Mc. SSB CW.
I always go up to 50.400 and put out a few calls on AM,but
QSO's are rare.
Never tried 29.0 Mc., but will start this morning.
