Hello Robert
You would be in demand on AO-7. AO-7 is really not difficult though can be
tricky. Keep in mind AO-7 switches between A B modes every 24 hours at
around 2340Z, I think. Also our JA friends can not transmit on 432mhz.
However they are on mode A. I have tried many times to

Robert,
Remember also, we are looking for someone with AMSAT and AX.25 packet
experience in Hawaii for out upcoming Arctic Buoy deployment next month.
A Hawaii ground station is required to activate PCSAT-1 on an ascending pass to
configure it so that it can hear the Buoy.
We want someone
I recently purchased an M2 Satellite Eggbeater antenna kit with the intention
of working satellites from my shack. I think this antenna will work best with
a pre-amp for the 70cm band that perhaps I can put in my attic close to the
antennas. Who makes a good pre-amp for this situation to
Peter,
Assuming full duplex and no rf switching requirement (aka recieve only) my
particular choice is DEMI's series of preamps. Cost $75 built and tested. If
you're like me and don't mind a little solder smoke, and have access to test
equipment for alignment, the kit is available for 45$.

Peter,
A 70 cm preamp is always useful! There are a lot of them out there, but my
experience is that ARR and SSB Electronics make the best. Definitely not
the cheapest, though.

I have a Kenwood TM251A FM radio I use on the FM satellites, and the memory
battery is going to need to be replaced. I figure sending it to Kenwood for
replacement is going to cost more than the radio is worth. The only thing the
manual says about it is to send it to Kenwood for replacement.

John, suggest you e-mail Leo at Kenwood West kcc-amat...@kenwoodusa.com
ask if it is a 'drop in' or solder job (it is likely behind the front panel
and soldered.)
Leo is very helpful and will give you the straight poop

Hi,
I still receive Chibis-M (RS-39) on 435.315 in the late evenings. However,
it isn't downlinking in morse code anymore. It sounds like it is downlinking
data in a BPSK format, which I've not tried decoding.
Another point to note is that it doesn't start downlinking until a long time
