Hi,
How do you deal with quotation marks in the referer field?? Analog is,
for obvious reasons, junking any lines which do have quotation marks
in the referer's query string.
Any ideas??

By the way, the reason for needing %aM not just %a is that some servers just
put a or p, not am or pm. I will make an explicit note about this in the
documentation though.

Hi
I'm new to this list, but I've been using various versions of analog for
over three years. Because this file:

HTTP/1.0" 304 0
represents a new "gateway" into someone's site, I really need it to appear
in the request re

Oh, a big *hug* to you, Stephen! Thanks so much. Tweaking follows, yes,
but I've got something to work with! Hooray! (This has been many many
weeks of frustration.)

The Request Report tells you the most downloaded files.

Look into the docs regarding SORTBY and FLOOR commands. You can turn on just the
reports for requests. To get submitted forms, you'll pro
You have to set the locations of these directories in analhead.h before

Hi,
I compiled Analog for Linux - no apparent problems. I installed it in
/usr/home/analog/..
However, when I try to run it, I get the message:
/usr/home/analog/analog: Warning F: Failed to open configuration
file
/usr/local/etc/httpd/analog/analog.cfg: ignoring it

Hello!

Is there any way to track the Most Downloaded Files and Most Submitted Forms and

Thanks, Stephen. I guess my question was, is it pointless to keep trying.
And you indicate not. I've never had success, so I don't know the pros and
cons of treating this as a query or a file. I want the *information* within
the query to show up in the log analysis. If I could get *any* outpu

I'm sorry, I wasn't following this thread closely enough, because I thought it
was being handled by other people.
There is no problem with defining that long string to be a %r. But I'm not
sure it is really a %r -- isn't it a %q ?
If you were to define it as a %q though, you would have to do som

Hi everyone; sorry for my english and my bored question, but recently i
change my format in a Webstar Server log and i'm going crazy to
configure it correctly.
Any idea?
I've tried this:
LOGFORMAT (%m/%d/%y %w %h:%n:%j %w %S:%j %j %w %r %w "%j" %w %c %w %b %w %j

Stephen, could you please answer this question? Is the database query
string
too much for Analog to handle? Can Analog recognize the FileMaker Pro query
string as a request (%r)?

2/1/99 11:03:12 AM
-db=MainSchool.fp3&-lay=DebtRatios&-error=errors.h
You just have to set the REQARGSFLOOR higher -- or if you prefer, use
ARGSEXCLUDE to stop them being read in in the first place.

One "complaint" about the documentation...the section on SUB reports,
IMHO, is...difficult?
For instance, how do I shut it off?
As an example, I want to know what .php3 files (or cgi's) were hit, but I
don't care about the args passed to them...
Thanks...
