I appreciate everyone's responses. I'm kind of between a rock and a hard

environment (it's a long sad story). Luckily, I just discovered that we
have older versions of IE available to my users via Citrix, so I can direct

If there's a missing block of Request ID numbers, can these be recovered?

the next legitimate request ID is 7002
Technically, yes, you can. You can go into the DB and reset the NextID
variable for that form. However, if it's a form that's being used for
entry (vs a config form), there's a good chance that numbers already exist
that exceed 7002. If so, you'll get a Unique Index error when the next
Agreed - you can do it, but it doesn't really make sense to do it.
Many times people doing data analysis will assume that the order of the entries
in the system indicates the order they were created in. This is mostly true on
single server systems. You'll still get some gaps unless your

Hi Keith,
So, it turns out you can just set the nextId column value in arschema to
the beginning of your missing sequence and you're good to go. While the
unique index violation that Rick mentions will happen, ARS seamlessly
handles the problem and will cycle until it finds an unused id. I'd
Its probably just that. I recall knowing its spelt as Grey when I lived

A very interesting fact nonetheless and it's also kind of

Actually, invalidated basically means that it's invalid, not that it hasn't

better word may be unverified in this case.

I believe that's the user experience patch 1.x. Its there with the smart
IT download. You will have to install it on the application server first.

You might be in for surprise, Remedy might support REST shortly.
Alternatively, you can write filter plugin code which calls REST.

Yup..but I read that in order to set-up a view form you need to have ARDBC
plugin setup on Remedy's end.

Create a dblink from oracle to mysql, you can Google this, it is possible
using oracle heterogeneous services.
Then once you have that link created, you can create as many view forms as
needed in Dev studio using the linked table names, see your vmc remedy docs
for info on view forms.

Hi Misi!
Personally, I haven't used DDE.ini in years, but you could try something like
this:
Command1=[App.Minimize()]
Command2=[NEW(G:\ABC\ARS-files\rek.xlt)]
Command3=[PASTE()]
Command4=[CLOSE(1)]
Command5=[App.Maximize()]
HTH.
Best Regards,
