We had to wipe our system to get rid of SRM. You could restore the db, but you will have to take care of the binaries on the app server too. On another note, I mistakenly used the SLM installer one time and it removed my entire bin directory from arsystem...yep I was busy for a while

I assume you are using unixes. On the testing environment does the server name that you have passed to control.server resolve to a valid name that can be resolved either via DNS or is mapped in the hosts file. Lets say if you have passed the value to control.server as testmachine The easy way
